Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

PSV, Olympiakos and Maccabi works for me

Would love to see Zenit (Saints-Petersburg), Dynamo (Kiev) and, especially, Astana (Kazahstan) drewn with City. First of all, it's aviable to go there (for the Blues from Eatern Europe at least). Secondly, these places are the interesting ones to visit (Even if Dynamo Kiev plays in Lvov - both Kiev and Lvov are wonderful palces). In the end, all three teams are arguably the easiest ones in their pots (Zenit are probably stronger than PSV and Benfica).

However, I would not be surprised if we get Bayern/Barca, CSKA and Borussia/Zagreb

Well, it can't be that then, can it?! Be considered too coincidental! Last time it came out like the practice draw, everyone called foul....but I'd take that draw in a New York minute...which is where I currently am!

I'd rather Olympiakos than most of the other teams in Pot 3.

Olympiakas might play in a shite league but they are quite savvy in the competition so would prefer to avoid

On the face of it the new seedings are a step in the right direction but for the champions of the leagues with more teams it's not great. The champions of England will have a limited choice from pot 2. There's a high chance they'll get a spanish team from pot 2 and vice versa the spanish champions have a far greater chance of facing one of the English teams.

I don't understand why they don't just get rid of seedings completely, the very definition of it means it favours the established elite. The champions league would be infinitely more enjoyable if it were a completely open draw. If it means a group of death and some of the bigger teams going out then so be it.

+1 but never going to happen. Elite protect themselves hence FFP, though a couple of years of Barca & Madrid having to sit in pot 2 might force another change
