Club Badge (merged)

My views are submitted. Fingers crossed [emoji106][emoji106]

This is a golden chance to get the badge that perfectly defines us, not just one we've had before. Make your opinions count and give it some thought. Change doesn't have to be a negative thing. We can end up with something that whilst saluting our past is also up to date and relevant as we go forward.

Sure, many views are that it's in the past, move on etc... But the same could be said about the Coat of Arms and
all the other symbols which were displayed in the consultation.

A large proportion of symbols were relevant to the COA though so it does seem like the club want a Round badge
which heavily focusses on the COA, representing the area significantly.

The only football team to come from Manchester... ooooooh Man' City :D

Manchester City have never ever worn that cross, so you'll get over it! :)
 
Pointed out to them that symbols of the Roman empire are of equal relevance to Manchester as the Lancs rose.

At least they don't appear to have any really stupid ideas like....a fucking devil haha!

If you want to include the St Marks Cross then click on the 'other' box and type it in. [emoji106]

I'd like to have the crosses included but we're not going have 'religious' symbols on the badge.

Some say the rose has nowt to do with Manchester but it is part of our history. Rather have roses than fucking bees! lol

I totally agree with this! A lot of people seems to be leaning towards and all white and sky blue badge, I understand that when you see it mocked up on a window or with a white background. But if you put it on a sky blue shirt, it will just get lost, it won't stand out at all. Before making a decision we should think about what the badge will look like on a sky blue shirt. Personally I think the maroon crest, or even traditional red will look far better from a design point of view. For those saying we don't want red in the badge, we had red in the badge right up until the eagle landed in 1997! It's part of our history, and the identity of Manchester to have a red shield with gold stripes.

You are right, I think a lot of people will be stumped by this in the questionnaire. When it asked me what I thought of the square topped shield I clicked "definitely not" but then the next question was about the traditional shaped shield inside the roundel, which I clicked "definitely yes" to. The club needs to alter that because I think a lot of fans will click no to the shield thinking it refers to the Nike abomination that surrounds our current badge to cut down on manufacturing costs.

It would be good to see both of them alongside each other on the home kit to get an idea of how they'd stand out on the shirt as they're both my current favourites.

Any whizz kids on here that could provide that, it would be greatly appreciated?

I don't want any red on the home kit, and our badge should never contain red. It may have done in nicer times, but not anymore. Also took the shield to mean an actual shield shape around the badge, as that was a separate item to the red shield as we know it. No external shield.

For me this is the perfect badge nothing bar the old one will surpass this
