yeah we are being forced into a certain way of how it will be ... but it will be a fusion of all our badges to one degree or another.

Personally i dont agree with the Red Rose, as long has i've been alive City have never been in Lancashire, so dont see it as a point of modern day or future, but respect it is part of our heritage.

think that not everyone will be happy ... thats the one thing everyone can agree on lol

Absolutely stunning mate, if City put it to a vote that would get mine.

I saw Rafael Esquer's tweets, he was complimentary in other posts. I reckon he's not being too complimentary because he's thinking about the bumper pay day if he gets the gig!

I honestly can't see how your design can be improved upon. The bees was one of the options on the questionnaire, I'd love them to be included, but from a design point of view I can't see how they could be included without taking away from your design.

there are ways to improve or create better designs ... i just havent bothered doing on that one for a year .... its only now, people have seen them on the glass door mock up and other variations now City have announced ihe change.
 
Don't usually post but it's important that city get this right.
I would like a modern version on the previous badge and am not a fan of the eagle. So much has been said before by others.
I think the Roman connection is tenuous with the eagle though I can see it might represent the aerospace industry.
My main objection with the eagle is that it has no body or feet and consequently looks like a flash tattoo. The point of this post is to ask if anyone has any designs with the full eagle on? I'd like to see what the previous badge would look like with the full eagle where the rose is for example. Not saying it'd be good but if the eagle has to be incorporated (I hope not myself) then at least have the whole thing. Also I'd prefer st Marks crosses instead of the full stops for style not religious purposes.

I'm guessing that when the swamp dwellers used the eagle, they were using the council design eagle and therefore here it is ...

... somehow think this would be totally the wrong direction to go. The connection is aerospace according to the council website.


In 1958 the first official crest was issued by the City, this included the often missed Helm and Mantling. It added in the Mantling a Golden Eagle on a Crown. The Eagle was included to represent the importance of the Aero Industry and the crowns represent the enlarging community of Manchester.

i've never seen a version of the eagle with a tail or talons of that design, i dont think one was ever done, even the questionnaire online only has the head and wings.

i did those 'fullstops' as moons in relation 'bluemoon' .... tried to add craters but it looked childish (my ineptitude), so just went for a whole representation of a spherical moon instead.

and there has been a recent discussion about the St-marks cross that in a dark colour, it closely resembles a nazi cross symbol .... i stopped adding it after that.
 
To be clear I hope the eagle is not included. The point of the post was, in part, to say why I didn't want it on the badge. The lack of a body is the main flaw in my opinion. I'm also against having the stars but I think most people are. I'm quite liking the maroon three stripes.

It would take something pretty special to improve on that design for me. The best design looks simple and if you added too much more to that I don't think it would improve it.

The beauty of it is that it would still look visually stunning in monochrome or on glass doors or whatever.

On the glass door, everyone seems to be unanimous that they love that, and many have said the colour scheme is perfect. But as I said earlier, the colours that look good on a glass door won't necessarily look good on the shirt.

Looks and reminds me of certain military juntas, particularly of a Germanic nature between 1930's and 1945. Not good or representative of our club at all.
 
I like that they've got us onboard with this. More than some clubs did. They can't please us all, and whilst I have a real affinity with our current badge and our identity; I much prefer the previous two when deducting sentimentality (I never got to know us much with the previous crest).
 
Keep the current badge and make the following changes.
Replace stars with Bees and superimpose globe over three stripes. In my eyes this would still retain our link with our past , also the bees would represent the owners commitment to the club and Manchester,whilst the globe would represent our global brand. In my opinion having the best of both worlds.
