Not a bad bit of business at £12M.

Jonjo Shelvey: Newcastle agree £12m fee for Swansea midfielder
Newcastle United have agreed a £12m fee with Swansea City to sign England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

The 23-year-old will have a medical at St James' Park before a deal is completed on Tuesday between the Premier League relegation rivals.

Shelvey, who signed a four-year Swansea extension in 2015, is the first player to leave since Alan Curtis took charge.

Not a bad signing for Newcastle - got to worry about the Swans though if they're selling him... unless they need cash to help fund a bid for Bony ;)

£12m for Jonjo Shelvey. Jesus. The premier league teams do have far more money than they know what to do with

He had to leave Swansea, he was the most vocal gobby player in all the shit that has happened there. The players turned on Garry Monk because he sided with the bosses/board there over Nathan Dyer leaving. Long story, basically involving extra marital shagging within the club. Monk became corporate over it, as he had to I suppose, and the players became anti over it.

Caught a bit of Talkshite yesterday, they were talking about the Portugese league re-negotiating the TV deal - only caught a bit of it, but they mentioned that a team would get less over a ten year deal than the bottom placed Premier League club next season... crazy money!

The video isn't entirely fair. I've been impressed with him when he does his job. He keeps it simple and distributes well. Good enough signing for Newcastle.

True, but most piss it all up a wall so it becomes a bit irrelevant. A lot of teams seem to be just buying the same people they would have bought before, but pay more money for them and pay them higher wages. You only have to look at teams like Sunderland or Villa, who have budgets similar/higher than a lot of top continental teams, yet barely have a player who you'd consider even decent.

Well the rumour mill was he was part of the break down the dressing room had with Gary Monk. Even though he's gone maybe Swansea reckon it's better to get rid rather than it happen again
