Howard Webb

this from talksport is spot on about Ashley young and diving
why would aguero be thinking am going down he is a great player and wants to score first than am thinking I want a pen first

He even proved that with the title winning goal.

He was caught by the defender before he put that in. If that was Rooney or most of the vermin front players over the years, or most of Liverpool's players, Owen, Rush, any of them, they would have hit the deck like they'd been shot. Sergio rode the challenge & smacked the ball in. That's what he's continued to do, yet these arseholes treat him as if he's dived, most of the time.

I don't know do I, which is why I suggested consciously or sub consciously. I have to wonder though, don't you?
Look at the one at Goodison last week on Navas. Ref is in a good position, probably about 20 feet from the incident. He clearly saw Navas have his feet taken away from him and yet he doesn't give the foul. I have to question the process of the referee there because it is beyond incompetent. The one on Sterling last night is even worse. Our man was properly clattered, Stones is nowhere near ball and clumsily wipes Stering out from behind. Again, what on earth is going through the referees mind because incompetency for me just doesn't explain it.

Whats going through their minds is a complete refusal to give us anything.

Its that simple.

Fair enough
So its looking like a campaign against us by a corrupt organisation, so is this now a matter for the police?

they are going with intructions. have to be. no ref that be that poor.

Completely agree.

That video on the previous page with Webb and Savage is an absolute scandal imo. Webb has done everything bar call Kun a cheat and despite knowing its a foul and thus a penalty, completely refuses to acknowledge that fact and defends the decision to not award it. He is not an impartial observer whose opinion grates but means nothing, he is influential on the current refs.

Sterling is in the exact same boat and will not be given a penalty regardless of how obvious or cynical the foul against him now.

Like the absurd unnatural arm position bollocks we get now to either decline or award a penalty depending on the team involved, we are now getting treated to so called fucking body language expert refs who will decide how a players falls over lol.

Just apply the laws of the game and stop fucking cheating!

Lets remember WEBB is a closet RAG so he is always going side against us. As for the two recent disgraceful decisions I question the impartiality of said Refs, both against the same opposition !!! NO surely not corruption in football !!!!!!!! and to think we ever questioned FIFA and UEFA !!!! well we all know now don`t we

Completely agree.

The PL need to continue to satisfy its global audience with a product they will pay for knowing full well the clubs supported in the main by them, the sheer amount of money in the game and the PL from prize money to teams, CL qualification and all that brings, certain clubs and players needed to look good for international call ups and all that brings, their agents wanting just that to increase contracts, fees due to them etc and last but not least, the global £Billions gambled on the league.

To suggest that many involved wont do whatever it takes to protect their incomes and positions is naive at best.

Fair enough

It's not beyond possibility. I actually think it's more likely that some referees just don't like us as a club and are sub consciously biased against us. But yes, maybe there is room for another corrupt organisation in football.

I think the corruption at Fifa & Uefa is slightly diferent to what the PL is being acused of, for the PL bosses to instruct refs to stop city at all cost is pretty serious imo. Scudamore could really be looking at jail time and a multi billion pound organization ripped apart by the authorities. All this by the powers that run our football just to keep the rags happy?

To keep Murdoch happy. I think it's much bigger than a club.

Scudamore said this..'There’s lots of fans around the world who wish Manchester United were winning it again,’ he added. ‘But you have to balance that off against putting on a competition.’

He doesn't put anything on or does he?

The teams put the competition on and if the rags are not good enough they are not good enough and the best team wins the league regardless of who they are or how many fans they have in the far east.

His comments suggest he has some sort of control over the destiny if he wishes or if it was needed....you know to protect the income streams coming in.

I don't think he should be saying it but he's probably not wrong tbh. I guess if I owned Sky, BT, PL rights who would I want to show to get the biggest audiences? I guess we will just have to bide our time before we replace them which could be a while, but it will come, i'm certain of it.

Apparently a £300k bet was placed against a Liverpool win (on Betfair I think) before their game at Exeter. Now why would you do that unless you were confident it would come in?

How many clubs have the name of an online betting company on their shirts? (Stoke are effectively owned by Bet365).
Why was a crook like Shinawatra so desperate to buy a PL club?
Why does Jon Moss get a statistically unlikely number of BT games?

Agents, players, bookies, clubs, the TV companies and even the PL all have vested interests in getting outcomes that suit their purpose. It's well documented that any ref who gave a penalty against the rags, didn't ref them again for 12 months, despite that being statistically highly unlikely. And when they did, you could guarantee there would be a penalty or red card in their favour.

And if he's saying that in public, I wonder what he's saying behind closed doors?

The fact that Liverpool played 9 players from the youth academy may of had a influence..
