I couldn't agree more.
My other bugbear is "there was definite contact, there".
I should hope so. It's a contact sport!
In last night's instance, it was penalty; not because there was contact but because he actually denied Aguero a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
However, they've also invented this imaginary 'last man back' rule that apparently must be a factor, too.
(Incidentally, I don't agree with a straight red for the denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity. Three punishments for one offence is silly. A yellow card and allow a penalty goal (like a penalty try on rugby) is plenty of retribution).
Agree especially on the last bit. Always a bit of a laugh to see a player sent off but its in the interest of the game to keep 11 v 11 if at all possible and only violent conduct should be seeing players walk.
