Best individual performance

Relatively recent stand out performances for me have been Kompany in the 4-1 home win over united and Joe at home against Dortmund. Going back a bit further two that have already been mentioned, Weaver v Ipswich and Benarbia away at Wednesday. Much before that I was usually not in a fit state to remember much about the matches.

Ali Bernabia Home debut against Bham City, sun was shining, city won and for 70 minutes he was simply magical, substitued to a standing ovation and most people saying , where the fuck have we found this guy from.

Didn't we play at Wolves the day United let slip leads of 3-1 and 4-2 to draw with Everton? They were the early game, and, as a result, we went into ours at Molineux knowing that a victory would put matters back in our own hands only a fortnight after we'd been 8 points behind. We duly won 2-0, albeit with a team performance that wasn't especially convincing, to put us three points off the top but knowing that we could overtake our dear friends and neighbours by beating them in the next game (which we also did). The result confirmed Wolves's relegation, too. I vaguely recall that they had some gripe with our second goal but can't remember what it was without looking it up, which I don't have time to do.

As for best ever performance, I remember the Peter Barnes display against Chelsea in the 6-2 mentioned above. Their right back that day was Graham Wilkins, brother of Ray, and he got himself sent off in the second half. I'm sure he did it just to take himself out of the firing line. Barnes could be devastating when on song. Anyone remember the last 5 minutes against Standard Liege in the UEFA Cup, when he made 3 goals to turn a nervy 1-0 lead into a comfortable 4-0?
yeah it was wolves..i can remember now being on the long away section all down one side. memory not as good as it used to be!

Yaya away at Palace when Liverpool were supposed to win the league.
Yaya away at Newcastle when we really needed a big second half - he delivered it.
Slightly obscure but Elano away at West Ham opening game for Sven - think there were about 4 or so new signings starting that game and not many City fans had a clue about many of them but Elano was incredible. It might stick out slightly more because if came after the dire end of Stuart Pearce's reign.

Bit of a different one, but Demichelis has Messi firmly lodged in his pocket before his red card in 1st leg 2014. So maybe that counts as half a performance

All good shouts there mate, yaya has been incredible at times...the West Ham game was a top day out,i had a wander around the markets of green street and the foodstuffs on sale there were amazing and things i didnt know existed,i was half cut mithering the stall holders about different foods and cultures, smashing day out in the sun that and the Hammers fans were sound before and after the match,as per imo.

Oh and Gio EVERY GAME he played for us.

Paul SImpson for about 20 minutes as a sub vs Wimbledon at Maine Road. 1986 at a guess, first match of the season, Wimbledon's first top flight match I think.

Berkovic v Norwich in 01/02 is one of my faves. The whole team raised their game after Tiatto was sent off (and bundled off the pitch by KK!), but he above all others went to another level as we went on to win 3-1.

Also Wanchope v Burnley 5-1 over Xmas the same season

And Dickov's 2nd half v Stoke in 98/99.

Kinkladze vs Newcastle in the 3-3. As good as Messi himself that day.

Richards vs United in a 1-0 home win with Sven in charge.

Weaver vs Ipswich 1-0 at home.

Hart vs Barcelona away last season.

Don't let Dax, Sean, Jack and Billy hear you say that! He only passes sideways and should be shipped out apparently! Haha!

All I will say I went to both games and anyone that thinks that Silva's performance( played really well ) in the 6 swan , was as good as Gio's in 3 all against Newcastle is beyond me

Enjoy your nite

Sergio's debut,I knew that night how special this lad was,I hope he stays for a good few years brilliant brillant footballer.
