Disgusted in Pellegrini yesterday, he has disgraced the club. The price of being a top team is playing lots of games in all competitions. Chelsea played in Europe on wednesday and again played a full strength team against us. We are never going to win the champions league so why not play the weakened side in Kiev ?
Our young players did themselves proud in what was always going to be a good hiding. The senior players let themselves down. I think Fernando probably only one with any credit, and if he doesnt play Hart in the final then he can go on sunday and let Kidd finish the season.

How on earth has he disgraced the club. We have 13 fit players and by the tone of your post, you were expecting to see most of them yesterday

Obviously you and bigger pictures don't mix

Fernando?!?! he was crap

whats the bigger picture ??? explain please

The rest of the season. As the manager said, we have 13 fit senior pro's. Pellegrini's employers don't feel the same way as you.

I suspect that if Sagna, Mangala, Nasri, Delph, Bony, Navas, Nasri, De Bruyne were all fit we'd have seen a different side.

We are totally depleted, our first team just lost to Leicester and Spurs, they would have likely lost away at Chelsea. If he'd have played a full stregnth and Kompany & Aguero picked up injuries. He'd have been hung drawn and quartered.

like i say play the weakened side in Kiev, we are never going to win the champions league with this clown. I'm sure most fans would prefer an FA cup final than get smashed by someone in the next round of the champions league

i wasnt too arsed about the decision to play a weakened team, he said he would and went through with it, something admirable in that. Plus the 1st half was decent in effectively what was a very very tough gig for young debutants.

but what does frustrate me about Pellegrini is that the situation of 13 fit players could possibly have been avoided by a more astute use of the wider, younger, squad earlier in the season. I appreciate he's always erred towards strongest available XI (fair enough) but to flip so erratically the other way is a little annoying.

Agree with a lot of this.
I'd have demanded a refund had I spent money on that yesterday. The youngsters did the club proud but MP is using to many excuses and yesterday was an utter disgrace.

You're picking the entirely wrong man for your anger.

He had no choice but to pick that side yesterday.

i think you have a valid point actually but i dont think the instructions coming down from the board would agree with your point of view

but i would still do what we did on Sunday, you cant just sack off the Champs League, we've never made it this far in the comp and it would be ridiculous to just to do so

it's about time people listened to the fans, i dont think yesterday had anything to do with the board. We should go through against Kiev and then i cant see anything but a defeat in the next round, unless we get Wolfsburg.

As I say, the owners, Pellegrini's employers totally disagree regards the F A Cup. Pellegrini has taken much worse squads deep in CL.

the only way he will be vindicated is IF we win on wednesday and win the cup on sunday. If not he'll look an even bigger tit

If we beat Kiev and the dippers I'm sorry to say your voice will join mine and many more in the BM wilderness. Our reward to be excoriated by the true supporters on here.

He will indeed. Some seem to think we will roll Kiev over just by picking our strongest 11. I hope we do but every time mp faces a team with a plan who are up for it we tend to lose. Can't see this being an easy game at all.

I think this is a very valid point. For sure the manager carry responsibility for having only 13 fit players. His "asset" management can be criticised.

If only Pellegrini had the benefit of hindsight.

Would he have been vindicated had he started a full stregnth side beat Chelsea but lost Aguero & Kompany to injury? Thus losing Wednesday and Sunday?

You understand the injury crisis right? He may still lose, he may lose both and some of it will be his fault. Some fault will be placed on underperformance players, some on a unrivalled injury crisis and some on a woefully unbalanced squad.

If we had a fully fit squad, he binned off the FA Cup, then lost two more games it would be his fault. Facts are he won't. So it's not all on him. If he plays Caballero though, that's suicide.

As for the FA Cup, we must have some of the most fickle fans about. No doubt the sales fans saying we disrespected the cup will be the same ones not attending finals or semi finals due to cost or time. Like it or not, the FA Cup is a joke now. Most teams make huge changes for it, we did no different, just our squad players are all injured.

Liverpool made 11 changes against West Ham. Only their fans are too interested in their own team to listen to the idiotic media.

Hi Nev,

Are you happy that we gave some of the EDS lads a game today?

I know you've been banging that particular drum for a while now.

Not in the circumstances mate no.

It's exactly what I have been saying about this bloke being proven true.

Some said he was 'protecting' the kids by not using them previously. I said that had already been proven not to be the case, by his use of Pozo last season, suddenly thrown into the team, playing out of position against top level, big, strong, players. The manager doesn't care, these kids are just pawns, to be used as he sees fit. Yesterday he was happy to chuck a whole bunch in, away from home vs the Champions. He hung them out to dry when it suited him, exactly as I said he would.

Some have argued previously, that the reason most of these have barely had 5 mins between them, is because it was 'too big a risk' to use any. I have argued that there is no risk at all. Yesterday a side containing mostly kids, held Chelsea until half time, despite being constanly let down by utterly shit 'experienced' players. The idea that one or two of these coming off the bench, over the past year or so, would have mortally wounded the first team, has been completely shattered & exposed for the utter nonsense many of us have always known it to be.

Then we compare these lads at their stage of development & think of all the kids who 'could' have played over the recent years, who were physically more suited to the task & have been discarded without even a trial run. Some written off as 'no hopers' because they allowed their standards & effort to slip during periods in the wilderness.

Then we consider the players picked, shoehorned into a 442 in order to suit his pathetic lack of tactical organisational skills, & as unbalanced in makeup, as many of his senior teams. It cried out for Kean Bryan to protect the awful, disgraceful Demichelis & Kolarov, but he picked a group of midfield kids who have barely made a decent tackle between them in their careers, to play against Hazard, Fabregas, Willian & Pedro & a totally inexperienced cb to play vs Diego Costa, next to two fucking clowns, in front of a shite goalkeeper.

The kids, I think, did themselves proud & nothing but positive can come of this from their perspective. This is not due to planning. It is due to their talent, & sheer luck that nothing happened to mentally scar them, as in the case of Boyata, when Mancini threw him into teams with similar disregard to his development & basically destroyed him.

Tosin was clearly shitting his pants & could barely kick the ball straight, but arguably defended better than the other 3. Well done lad. Barker was clearly nervous as fuck but still managed to skin a top fullback alive when given a decent pass. Those two will benefit from just getting on the pitch I think. Celina however, stuck out in no mans' land, didn't benefit. The two Spanish kids were getting used to it & particularly A Garcia looked like he's got a decent hour in him & was excellent at recovering the ball, very very promising.

Tbf to Pellegrini, he is probably the only person in the world who would have picked Faupala, who thouroughly doesn't deserve to be there on merit & totally unbalanced the team, but he put in a game effort. I suspect that will turn out to be his 'Macheda' moment, but well played to the lad & I hope I'm wrong. It is early days for him, tbf.

Fantastic that the kids have finally got started. I'm truly delighted for them, & we have a load more who could have done just as well or better.

Meanwhile, I'm counting the days for this con artist of a manager to leave & wish he had gone two seasons ago. He is completely unfit for the job & the luckiest man alive.
