How far will the fall be before evasive action is taken?

the action has been taken in appointing pep, the timing of it remains to be seen if it was wise to do it when we did/manuel did

13-14 2.26 points/game
14-15 2.07 points/game
15-16 1.74 points/game

I think the above shows just how far backwards we have gone. It's too late to do anything about it now but he should have gone last summer.

Absolutely and everybody could see it.

That Pep was probably sealed the powers that be offered an extension for a job well done in year one the decision was made to go to the original term.

Its honourable but it has come at a cost but what better way for Pep to go to unchartered waters and show us what he can really do.

Winning the league and the Europa league in his first year that's the target.

Should have gone after Burnley away last season! That was the day everything hit home for me about this manager. The day i and many others realised he is not good enough.

We've been noticeably declining in quality in the last two seasons without seeing those stats, our performances have been more than enough proof of that, but the stats do really show how far we're falling. We've gone from a champion side to a side with Europa Lg points/game in less than two years having spent about £230m since last winning the title to "improve" us.

Wow. Yet another stat that tells it all.

He will struggle to get a big gig after this. As a personality he's towed the line but as a manager he's been completely found out here.

He's spent considerably as well in that time.

Txiki wants to have Peps babies so it was a non starter him being fucked off end of last season, judging by some of the wank he's bought that we need to replace then it will be Peps second season that will bear the fruits of his labour, providing we buy the right players of course.Pep hasn't got a magic wand that's for sure, still anything is going to be better than this shite being served up at the moment.

Wow never realised it was this poor.

From the change in 2013 and the money spent that is not good. Our owners demand top four as a given and progression in the Champs League. The transformation from the Mancini team to the current set up has not been handled well and the owners will demand answers. Txiki has done wonders in getting Pep but must be looking back at some badly spent money and tactics.

I wish they could persuade him to feign a knee operation or something.

This league is still there for the taking. Even Pellegrini could still win it imo. But if we grabbed a competent manager for a couple of months, imo we'd tear it up.
No need to feign it Neville, I'll happily provide you with the baseball bat. ;)

I actually like him because he's a nice chap. But I think if he wasn't such a nice chap, I would be happy to take you up on it.

If he had Mourinho's personality, I think he'd be amongst my most disliked ever City managers. It's only his likeable nature which stops me from wanting to stand outside the main entrance & boo him. I can't ever remember a City manager getting away with it like he has.

I've come to the conclusion that he's a Sith Lord - trying to take down the republic from within...

I got absolutely savaged for saying he was poison.

But he's proving me right.

The club is fucking dying on it's arse and I don't think we have it in us to crawl over the line for 4th.

What an awful fucking return for these last 3 years.

No top 4 would be a disaster.

even though we won the cup, the team did their damned best to throw it away, missing chance after chance after chance. if it wasnt for willy we'd have lost that. last night's result was fucking disgusting to be honest. sooner manuel fucks off the better

We see no top 4 as a disaster, I would love to know just how disastrous it is viewed by the hierarchy and the proof is in allowing Pellegrini to carry on.
We clearly have an issue and one that isn't going away and more worryingly one that Pellegrini hasn't been able to rectify.
If it was truly vital we got champions league football then I think something would or will very soon happen with regards to Pellegrinis immediate future, if he is allowed to continue then I would suggest that as a club we are fully willing to take the hit of potentially not having champions league football next year.

He is an all tense and purposes quite literally just babysitting for Pep now, he looks tired and out of ideas, the players look the same. Like I said I honestly think the club are ok about potentially not having champions league football for a year.

With the amount we have spent, winning 2 league cups, a genuine reserve cup where basically NO 'big' side other than us plays a strong team; is a footballing illusion of success
The teams we have played in that cup are in upwards of 200Mill and hes won it twice, yes fair play, but dont use it as a realistic yardstick of progression under this utter fraud

Of course he 'won' the PL, after an abysmal collapse from liverpool..

FA cup he has been DIRE, being humiliated in each season in that competition

The poster above had a valid point, and you do to an extent.. but this whole 3 trophies in 3 years with the outlay from us and if you dig a little, this guys failed and its totally inexcusable that he is still here considering the most expensive squad in PL history, with the greatest facilities and player care in the world.. are about to be outgunned to fucking 4th place.. potentially by west ham!
