Is Galahad still suspended?

I think Kid has a litttle over a year more to go on his suspension. I dont know when it started from but he got a 2 years.

Ormond was awful vs Flanagan and stuck the nut in for an easy way out. No reason for Flanagan to fight him again
Well Ormond beat Derry easy on points when they fought. His promotors in the US are looking for a World title fight or to position him into a mandatory asap.

Great lad Terry but the Derry fight will be tougher than people expect-still think Terry will win by a wide decision.

The most underrated boxer in Britain but that's how he likes it.

I honestly think if Terry had the backing of Sky he would be fighting Crolla summer time on Sky Box Office and winning the second world title. Just hope when his contract with Warren is up he moves over to Matchroom to get the big payday and fight with Crolla.

Ormond v Flanagan doesn't sell. Its an unnecessary step back for Terry, I'll be surprised if it happens. The Mathews fight has lots of reasons for going ahead, not least a Mcr-Lpool rivalry.

I'm (foolishly!) optimistic they can make the Flanagan Crolla fight though. Skeete is with Warren and just fought on a Matchroom show on Sky.

The Ormond fight was a proper old school scrap, I wouldn't mind seeing that again.

Derry's a domestic level scrapper, Crolla not much better. Terry's gotta make hay while the sun shines but let's not pretend any of these fights enhance his standing as a "world champion".

I liked the fight too. Ormond under Warren always felt he got a raw deal from Warren. Saying that I just dont see the Crolla v Terry fight not happening unlike its a joint promotion but which 1 of the egos of Warren or Eddie Hearn is going to bend over for the other promotor. Feel Terry is best fighter in his division in the UK and isnt far off being the best in the world.

Lightweight isn't a blessed division just now. Linares is arguably top man, and I wouldn't confidently pick a winner if him and Flanagan fought

If Gamboa got his shit together he'd be the man. Domestically lightweight's a bouncing division, so many good fights to be made

Gamboa is small at the weight though. Crawford bullied him. Although Crawford is class.

Agree some top match ups to be made domestically, but not necessarily due to quality. Flanagan is a step above the other domestic fighters, including Crolla.

@leighton

Just noticed Galahad has had his ban cut short today meaning he is free to resume his career immediately. Funny we were only wondering about that the other day.

Yeah its good for the division that Kid is back. I think if he fights in 2 to 3 months time and gets active again. Him v Quigg would be a great fight to have and Kid to win it on points.

Will a summer bout between Golovkin and Saunders really fill a football ground? Accrington Stanley perhaps. Lee v Saunders was hardly an immediate sell out at the Nynex.

You're right, I don't think the average casual fan has heard of either of them

I fancy Flanagan to stop Derry around the 8th, if he starts like he did against Magdaleno then earlier. Some great fights out there for turbo if all goes to plan, maybe Rances Barthelemy at some point then onto Jorge Linares. Having said that, he may look at a different route.
Sounds like JG doesn't fancy putting Crolla in with Flanagan, that would be a huge fight in town and would wet the appetite of any boxing fan, rkid told me today they both went the same school, plus blue v red will always add that extra bit of spice.
With regards to re-matches, I see no point in another Frampton v Quigg or similarly BJS v Lee, both Carl & BJS will look for bigger and better fights.
Will be good to Lee Selby back against Eric Hunter on the josh undercard, thought Selby struggled last time out in the states but expect a good performance this time round.

Joshua v Martin - ' Gloves Are Off ' to be shown April 3rd for anyone that's arsed.

I'm not sure how highly i rate Flanagan yet. His rep is based on beating one kid who had potential. He'll beat Derry - if he doesn't he isn't world class but I hope Frank steers him away from all the domestic dustups and into some really meaningful fights at world level. I love watching BJS fight, he has a fantastic skillset and a top class boxing brain but I wish he'd committed to get properly fit earlier on in his career. He's never a full blown middleweight and sooner or later his lack of a big enough punch to deter opponents will catch up with him.

Frampton v Selby would be a fantastic fight if it could be made. And as for AJ v Martin i don't think anybody other than those two and Eddie Hearn is arsed !

I think Kell Brook was saying that Kid Galahad will be fighting on his undercard in Sheffield. Great to see Kid back him v Quigg would be a great match up. As for a rematch Lee v Saunders was a good fight Lee lost it in the round were he hit the canvas 1 bad round and Lee would of been getting the win. 1 had it a draw and the other 2 judges had it close too. Also the timing of the fight didnt help with it being Xmas the following week no wonder there wasnt a sell out. Lee i think wants a big fight with Miguel Cotto be a good fight for Lee 1 last big pay day if he wins sets up another crack at the world title.

As for Joe G he wont risk is his fighters in 50-50s. Thats the main reason why the Frampton v Quigg fight took so long to sort the fighters was asking for it for years yet Joe G didnt want Quigg in there. So keeping Crolla away from Flanagan is typical Joe G. He might do the same with Mundo Smith if George Groves goes looking for that fight. Joe G over protects his fighters too much. I feel for Rigo and his visa problems i was lucky to see him fighting in Dublin so hopefully a Rigo v Frampton highly unlikely will happen in Dublin.

Yeah i rate Saunders and showed his class against Eubank jnr when not many fancied him. He made me laugh when talking about Fury who he speaks to daily, Fury told him that before fights he eats 'hedgehogs' and has invited him ' up north ' next time he's on a hunt.
