Don't think he has played enough to judge to be honest. But I agree he looks ok on the evidence to date.Injuries aside Delph has been superb for us IMO

Because Everton have been generally poor this season and lacking any cohesive structure Stones has been more exposed than previously. I think the guy has potential but doubt if it is wise to fork out 50 million.hes a fantastic young player. yes he's making mistakes, but he's young and the type of football he tries to play that could happen. people in this country like to ridicule young players, examples being kane, sterling, barkley.
Even after his first great season people were saying he was a one season wonder and when he wasn't scoring at the beginning of the season - he wasn't good enough. same with barkley and sterling now as soon as they have a few bad games they are shit and aren't good enough.
stones clearly has the talent to be a very good defender.
And Larpote is not that? If I was in charge, ID probably get both. Either will be good. But Laporte is currently better. That may change. All players develop differently. The problem is most guys on here prefer people like laporte because they have seen less if him.
No doubt they will say they watch every game!
Stones is a very good footballer and a good defender
we need good footballers who can keep and pass the ball. This meabs the opposition have it less and therefore you defend les (pique good example. Not fast or great defender but won everything as he is perfect for his team)
Denayor a great prospect but unproven in prem . Unlike stones
Ahh! I see you picked up on the the double standard.Mangala gets a pass for being utterly woeful because apparently he just needs a coach like Pep.
Stones is just shite though and shouldn't be looked at twice by ourselves.
Seems legit.
And you have just put together a fantastic argument for why we need a Central defender, we are not sure of Kompany. And if I were to guess, ID guess he misses half the games next season. This will be more in line with his history. The only problem Stones has is with his decision-making. I'm sure that could be sorted
Not sure we need a defender. Otamendi, Mangala, Kompany. It will come down to whether Kompany has a good Summer
He keeps trying to come back for City/Belgium when he needs rest
Why not wait to see how Kompany does over the SummerAnd you have just put together a fantastic argument for why we need a Central defender, we are not sure of Kompany. And if I were to guess, ID guess he misses half the games next season. This will be more in line with his history.
Does it matter how he does? He is an Injury prone guy who's getting older. My sense is more likely than not, he'd be injured again. So plan like he will be, then if he isn't, You have an unexpected luxury. Why not wait to see how Kompany does over the Summer
