If this is indeed done and the rumours about replacing our medical team are true you have to wonder who has done their checks on him and how well do the hierarchy trust their opinions? I know from first hand experience that a dislocated kneecap is something that can go either way, you can recover from it and never have a problem again but it can also go the opposite way and it could cause numerous problems further down the line and never fully recover. It's worth the risk, i'm not debaating that, i'm just questioning how confident we are that he's going to fully recover andd it's not going to cause problems in the future.
Are you from Yorkshire?

Every ambitious move involves some risk.

He's had surgery on the knee so his risk of long-term problems won't be as high as normal. I suppose we're confident enough to throw £17m at it.

Really unlucky to dislocate both kneecaps

worth the risk imo, 19m is no money nowadays for such a player. No problems and we got a big bargain, problems and we haven't lost that much.

So what do the club do about the medical? I thought all players had to have one and obviously him being injured he wouldn't pass at the moment.

They'll be checking for underlying issues as well as giving a full diagnosis of the current issue.

See if he is conscious enough to use a pen, and get him to sign.

I think the carer can sign, providing they have power of attorney. No way Jovetic could have lifted a pen without straining something. Surprised there wasn't a picture of him unconscious with his top off

Turkish names often seem quite unusual when translated to English. For example Fenerbahçe have Volcano Ironhands (Volkan Demirel). Galatasaray have Hamit (Goldenballs) Altıntop and Beşiktaş have the Skylord (Gökhan) himself Gökhan Töre. İlkay Gündoğan is no different. İlkay literally means First/New Moon and Gündoğan translates to the dawn of the day and is traditionally a name given to a baby born at sunrise.

Depends upon the buying club, we bought Robinho without a medical as there wasn't time. With respect to an injured player the injury isn't career threatening so not real issue. His medical history will be look at as a matter of routine and any particular concerns will be fully explored. His current injury will obviously have more focus, with probably additional scans to see if it healing as expected.

A medical isn't a pass or fail. It's just an in depth report of the players health. You can sign a player without them conforming to your own clubs medical standard if you think he's worth a punt. It's just to make sure you're not signing players with hearts that are about to go pop, or an undiagnosed incurable issue, things like that.
