Jamie Vardy

He isnt a natural posession player, but he isnt bony. Much cleverer with his movement. Could work very well. Worst case scenario he is like aguero without the skill, getting in behind and getting 10 goal or so.

No there isn't.

They are still 29.

If you can get the player for a reasonable price (and 20m for Vardy would be given the prices players go for these days) you'd be daft not to.

For example would you rather have Vardy at 20m and he produces 2-3 seasons like this season for us or Sterling at 45m and he produces 5+ seasons (he's one of these long term 'one for the future' buys after all) like this season?

Are you seriously saying that there isn't a difference between buying a 29 year old and keeping an existing squad member who is 29 years old?

Hwd get more than 10 goals, but why get him? He could be so much more playing for a team that suits his style.

If you want examples of why it's a non starter, look at Lambert, Ings, Steve Bull, Guy Whittingham etc. Even Michu and Bony fall into the same category.
They have a good season in a less glamorous club that plays to their strengths and people start talking silly money.
In the grand scheme of things, 20m seems reasonable. Add in a wage of at least 50k a week and he becomes a very expensive squad player with a rapidly diminishing value.

Ermm. Yes there is. A huge difference.

Would love Vardy if he was 25, his game is all about pace, at 29 he is one injury away from loseing his biggest asset, if injury is avoided he is only 2/3 years from decline, no not for me would rather Pepe looked at EDS for a fringe player to develope

He wouldn't be worth it at 26 years old, he wouldn't get a touch, never mind a game in the new set up... You know the one that 'some people' are guessing what it might be/look like etc...
Totally agree fella.

Football in the real world doesn't work like Ultimate Team on FIFA. You can't just pluck someone from a totally different style and say it will work as they have good sprint and shooting stats.

I don't think we should stop at signing Vardy, I think we should buy the entire Leicester team. Then we can all go apeshit on here next season when we finish about 7th.

Whhoooaaaa there........that fucking 'M.O' is exactly what makes the 'it's quiet' thread tick over. If people are going to have to give opinions based on watching players, and having actual empirical knowledge of players then it's going to be shite on the Transfer Forum.

I withdraw my idiotic comment and apologise wholeheartedly.

I'm off to self flagellate.

I don't care how good he might be at the moment, I do not want this hateful, spiteful, cheating, prick at my club. ☺

Michu and Vardy definitely fit into the same category, if you catch my drift ;)

Yes.

I give you Fernando who is 28 (so even younger than the chosen figure of 29) and I give you Vidal (turned 29 last week).

Would you rather keep Fernando than buy Vidal?

I'll rest my case and yours for you.

What case? You've just named two different players roughly the same age and of different quality.

Would Barca rather keep Busquets or sign Cattermole?

Doesn't really prove a lot, does it?

As already said, doesn't suit either our playing style or age profile for new players. Unless it were someone truly exceptional, we should be looking only at younger players.

Besides, he's an orrible looking chav.
