Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

I don't know how we can do it without liberal use of gifs,we may have to overwhelm the mods and lock them in the stationary cupboard so we can get cracking

Might work better if we locked them in a moving one

No actual quotes and couldn't wait to slip the rags name in the running
I want Auba to happen but no way you are ever going to get any actual quotes for anyone on a transfer except if it is a selling club. We din't say a thing about the rumors on Pogba either and it isn't happening now.

The MEN always post crappy articles with little or no substance- aimed at getting clicks.

Unless Dortmund release an official statement I wouldn't be worried.

Have you ever watched Aubameyang play?

I cannot seriously believe anyone who says they have seen him, and actually believes he could play behind the striker. I actually don't believe anyone who says they have.
Are we forgetting this is the same pep that turned douglas costa from a bit of a headless chicken at times to europes best winger?

Or as Alaba said
"Alaba is adamant that the credit for his emergence as a football universalist does not lie so much with him as with Guardiola. “He pushes everybody, every day, in a good way,” he says. “Especially me. I’ve been getting better with every year he’s been here, because of him. But I didn’t know myself that I could play as central defender.”
He sees things in a player very few others do.

Agree, you just know the quality of the article is poor if the headline contains such click-bait as REVEALED! and CONFIRMED! Even the missus has given up with the MEN now when it asked her to 'answer these quick questions to continue' when trying to just view a list of local summer activities in the area for the children. Completely lost any identity and usefulness as a local paper now, whoring out "articles" for desperate attention.

Anyhow, agree with you at even the Dortmund comments are nothing to worry about. Of course we haven't made a bid or approach to them, I don't think many transfers are even done like that nowadays anyway. Dortmund would be among the last to know that he is coming here, shortly after we conclude our talks with the relevant parties and the player or his agent advises them that if a bid comes in from a CL English club he's like to speak to them. It used to be that you'd get in trouble for approaching players under contract, but I think for the past decade that rule has been crapped on and is now as useless as the aforementioned MEN.

So, in summary, what we know is that we haven't made a bid and so can happily tell the media that. Dortmund can confirm. We may or may not have met with the player and his representatives, but if we did then we officially didn't talk shop.

Either that, or Dortmund criss-cross our transfer plans elsewhere so we're pegging them back with this one via selected leaks (e.g. if we're concerned Real want Aguero then we push another name into the fore as available), or someone else is in for him and we're hoping leaking a high fee will dissuade other wishy-washy parties.

A couple of days ago there was talk on here about some PR stunt involving social media or so. It was very little concrete, but some posters appeared to know something and thought a lot about it. I am wondering if this would involve Aubameyang in some form. If so it would be easy to understand why City is trying to play things down now. No point in spoiling whatever surprise they have prepared.
