Labour / Tory Party meltdown Referendum fallout

Not sure about UKIP they will be about to make sure we don"t get EU light imho

If they want to remain long term they need to re brand themselves in some way, if in 5 years immigration is still high they may be relevant. It's a long time in hibernation though.

So, Labour MPs turning on their leader who actually didn't want to remain in the EU - he's probably more in touch with the British public than any other leader. Ok, let's get rid then.

Just goes to show that the Remain campaign are still bitter. It's fucking ridiculous.
He wanted out but told everyone he wanted to stay in? Sounds unlikely but might be true. What is undeniable though is that he also called for 'uncapped migration', which just might make him not quite as in touch with the British public as you suggest.

If the Tory party leans more to the right i can see the vast majority happily going back to their natural home.

Is this a dilemma for Andy Burnham? He has his eyes set on the Mayor of Greater Manchester - I suspect that he will now be thinking he can lead the Labour Party instead

I think it depends a lot on how Labour move. If they stick with the Islington elite type then UKIP will rake in votes by pointing themselves at the working class, with which they already seem to have a strong foothold.

The rumours are boris didn't want out and thought remain would win. So maybe the new Tory leader could be secretly pro EU, the current labour leader is secretly pro leave, the country is split down the middle and no one knows which party refects their political leanings.

Can we please leave the childish name calling of politicians out no matter how distasteful we might find them as it does nothing for the debate.

Thanks.

I can see a huge re-alignment of the parties, with the right-wing MP's of the Labour party joining the left wing MP's of the Tory party to create some sort of social democratic party, in the same way Jenkins, Williams, Owen & Rodgers did. UKIP could merge with the Tory right wing leaving the Hampstead/Islington clique as a left wing rump of the Labour party.

Can't see him not going for the leadership, especially if he'll be campaigning against Boris in the General Election where he might fancy his chances.

Without a doubt, the centralist politicians have lost the country right now and have a huge fight on to regain it and a new breed of politics and politician is going to be need to do it.

They can no longer ignore the electorate and perceived issues no matter how much they want to.

Marr is playing a blinder all lying Mp"s being called out about their campaign lies
Javid looks like a liar at worse and a clown at best

I don't imagine an Autumn general election as has been mooted
It's not in labour or Conservative party interests as neither will be anywhere near ready to fight an election in the autumn
