Cantona, the legendary goalkeeping coach, has taken time out of his acting career......to claim Butland should be England no.1.

Punches when he should catch (PSG game leading to the penalty a good example).
Distribution poor.
Vulnerable on his left hand side to long range "daisy cutter" shots ( Geordies and Hammers at home last season and Euro 2016).
Not a very agile keeper ( although good on one on ones).

Definitely a position that needs strengthening for next season.

golden glove keeper isnt the first player i`d get rid of

If we were fully sorted in every outfield position, this argument would have more weight but, name one keeper that doesn't make mistakes. Joe has his moments and I think no one would argue that, but tbh, there aren't many out there better than him.

On the evidence so far his distribution of the ball off the ground has not been great. One of course could argue that the players in front of him have not inspired confidence either and have not been coached properly in how to take up the right positions quickly enough to allow the creation of space that facilitates effective distribution from the back. In fairness to Joe I think he deserves a chance to prove himself in the new environment.

It seems to me there are more important upgrades to be made
like 60% of the positions in front of him?
But
In Pep I trust
Let's play some damn football already

Hart's still a very good keeper his distribution is just really bad and Pep must value that highly to consider getting rid for a lesser standard of keeper.

Why would we want to replace him with a 33yo ?

I could half understand getting the other Barca keeper at 24yo and letting them do battle for the number one shirt but a player at 33yo coming to England for the first time, no ta.

Because we have already secured his replacement in Rulli. If Pep wants a Sweeper. He can play Bravo for two years and replace him with Rulli. Again IF that is what he wants, selling Hart and buying Bravo is a no brainer.

Like City_Sean I also agree. However you missed, doesn't command his area and doesn't know when to come or when to stay !

Well in your opinion it is a no brainer, to the vast majority of people it really isn't.

Replacing Hart with a 33yo lol and as for Rulli being secured you better let the press no this as we are being linked with every goalkeeper with a pulse, they can't all be signing.

You can join the bunch of other "fans" in the lacking a bit of loyalty to a player that has given his all for our club, the way you fuckers type it you would think Hart couldn't keep for the u9's he is that shit.

Sigh

Not something I'd be prioritising looking at those in front of him last season. Hart is by no means the complete keeper but there is a lot of dross in front of him that need to be replaced first.

Perhaps you may need to catch up. We have signed Rulli.

Now, go back and read my post again...I said IF (IF IF IF) Pep wants a sweeper (which we all can agree Joe Hart is not) then it makes sense to sign Bravo for 2 years since we have already signed our long term keeper.

As far as your insinuation that I am not a fan, Fuck you. Point to where I have ever said a bad thing about Hart.

To understand the position those of us who think a replacement is a possibility needs you to understand the type of football Guardiola has played since becoming a manager. It's that simple. Loyalty is ok when coming from our fanbase but Pep isn't held back by sentiment. The fact we're linked to ball playing goalkeepers on a daily basis should offer you some idea into how we are likely to be playing and if Joe doesn't show enough in preseason there's a very real chance he'll be starting the season on the bench.
I'd love to think he can improve that aspect of his game enough to convince Pep he's the man for the job but honestly, I can't see it.
This doesn't mean we don't rate Hart or are desperate to see him sold, just that we're aware of the problems he faces.
