You made the fundamental error of listening to people on here who have the same knowledge of transfer dealings that you have. It's a good laugh reading these threads, but never, ever believe the hype. Treat it as a bit of fun and enjoy the gifs when people start getting giddy! Talkshite have more knowledge on transfers than most on here - and they just report what's in the past papers.

Too right. Not sure what else people expect the club to do - we identify players - we offer good personal terms, have a world class manager, world class facilities and we offer top dollar - but ultimately we can't make players sign for us. If they want to join us great - if they don't - well we move on.

I'm sure some people think that if they throw their toys out of the pram and say things on here like 'If we don't sign him now I'm gonna be so pissed off' think that it will suddenly spur City into getting a move on n signing them.

As mentioned, we're not going to announce anything whilst he's on holiday without him being able to do an interview etc, I'd like to think that it's all in hand and we are now just down to agreeing a fee with the club.
