I'd love to know who the head of recruitment at BT is... in Ferdinand, Scholes and Owen they have three people, who constantly show bias, little tactical knowledge and are completely devoid of personality... the one thing you would think a TV pundit should have! It seems they only recruit ex Rags or Dippers, purely because they think that because their old clubs have the bigger fan bases, that will equate to more people tuning in... whereas it seems the opposite is proving to be true, with even neutrals noticing how crap their coverage has been.
Like most blues, I don't want sychophants blowing smoke up our arses, and fawning over us at every opportunity – I just want fair reporting... if we're shit, we accept that, but if we're good I don't expect the pundits to have sad chops, and still be negative!

This Blue certainly agrees. Fairness is all we want. We certainly know when we are crap. The last thing I want is a' holier than thou' Blue telling me to ignore (in other words accept it) for any of the reasons we see on here.

The fact is people of all sorts readily believe the messages they get on their tv screens.

All around the world people are told 'Things go better with coca cola - Drink coke'. And they do in their hundreds of millions. They drink sugar water that cost pennies to make multi gallon drums.

Advertising works and what we see and hear is a form of advertising, just a different business.

Fairness is something you will never get from the media. They employ those that appeal to the majority.
They have to sell their wares or go down the tubes in this digital age. Unfortunately we (ie city fans) are not a majority so we are unlikely to get what we consider to be fair.

I´m not condoning it merely pointing out that views of news is what we get today not news.

Totally get your point, but I don't think it is down to apathy on the part of City supporters, but more the flagrant refusal by the BBC, BT and every other media organisation who rely upon the money that the Rags/ Dippers in their braindead millions bring to the table, to change their approach and bias.

You must have seen examples of the responses to complaints posted on the forum - they just don't care and issue bullshit replies .

We've been through far worse as a fanbase. We've been given far worse shit as a fanbase. Back in the 1990s when we were everyone around the country's second favourite club and the media were always positive about us in the small snippets we ever got it was because we were shit and when we were shit United were at their peak. At the time I was a teenager at school and the shit I used to get off the Rags at school was daily, sometimes hourly. Bearing in mind back then there were homes where both parents were City fans but their kids decided to be Rags because they were winning everything. When we lost 5-0 in the derby I had the other kids in my form all waiting for me at the gates and they all piled on top of me cheering.

This was just my story. This sort of thing will have happened to many blues, young and older, all over the city at the time at school in work in be pub. Daily piss taking! Which is at worse than some media bollocks.

After a while though that starts to mean nothing. They could say the worst thing ever and it meant absolutely nothing. Back then City fans had the thickest skin of any set of fans ever. You couldn't get to us, you couldn't say anything to us that could wind us up.

The daily bollocks we get from the media here is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the shit we got from the Rags in the 90s and if that didn't get to us then this media shit certainly doesn't! It's meaningless and has absolutely no effect on me and many other City fans. Me and my mates laugh it off, just like we used to with the Rags jibes twenty years ago. Water off a ducks back.

Unfortunately it's not true of all City fans. I don't know why. It's as if the 90s never happened to some of them. That original Agenda thread on this website was an embarrassment to our fanbase, talk about overly sensitive, Christ almighty! And I'm certain that thread fuled journos with the aim to get their articles into the thread and to do so was their big achievement of the week.

I don't know why the skin is so thin with some of our fans but it is. It never used to be like that. But many of us take no notice of the bollocks and we pay it as much attention as it deserves; none! Just like the club themselves do.

I think you entirely miss the point for many who took that abuse with stoicism at the school gates, or wherever. They took it then because they had to; because they had little to fight back with, other than pretty feeble retorts, if we're being honest. That is no longer the case and that feeds people's grater sense of militantcy today towards criticism of City than in the 90's. If you kick sand in a guy's face and he comes back a couple of years later, ripped and toned, don't expect him to reason with you in a gentlemanly fashion.

Everybody else does irrespective of whether it is sport or not.

We all feel as though unjust criticism or complete fabrication is something we should be able to do something about but as long as they tread this borderline of keeping just within the law which they seem to instill into their correspondents and pundits then how do we reply ?

Our owner has many important friends around the world yet as far as we know he rarely appears to retaliate.
Again maybe there is the Joe Mercer in him which tells him to have a long memory rather than a short temper. I certainly would not want to upset him too much because he uses his power in strange ways.

He spent a long time explaining Danny's experience as a professional footballer and ex England player.

I pointed out Alan Ball won a World Cup and still didn't understand football whereas Jose can't kick a ball and does. He laughed and said he took my point on board.

Does he get the way City fans feel they are shown on his channel, especially CL? Did he acknowledge they are aware of cancellations? Sorry if you didn't discuss this, I can't be arsed with them to be honest.
