Saw some lose touches there that carried on into hisgame last season. Has to get better with that. Especially now that he is likely to start seeing more park the bus defenses.

I think it's the same with all kids but he has attributes which could open up defences, especially as they have never seen him. The same goes for some of our kids who were never given the same opportunity Sane had.

I don't know why everyone is so quick to believe the £37 mil figure.. It's quoted by Schalke.. Bound to be inflated.. Including bonuses, agent fees etc.. Selling clubs do that to show that they got the better deal
They said it was 40m,city have made it clear via martin b at the sun that it's 37m and add on that might not be triggered

Are people really moaning about the size of the fee? I would think in the current market 37m represents excellent business from our point of view for a player with his potential and reputation across Europe.
Exactly, as discussed earlier in the thread Benteke was £32m, a year ago, without the hike in TV money !

I'd rather we just never made the 'take it or leave it' offer to Liverpool last summer if we didn't have the bottle to actually walk away when they rejected it.

It's precedents like that which come back to haunt you. Exactly what we're going through with Stones now as well apparently.

You've got to show you're prepared to walk away when selling clubs take the piss otherwise you'll get the piss taken out of you every time you buy.

Did we issue a take it or leave it offer or was that a press story? Neither of us will know.
We appear to have walked away from interest in Pogba and Aubameyang this summer already. The brutal answer is when we want a player that the other club does not really want to sell we have limited negotiating power. No one on this board knows what the starting negotiating positions were in any bid, we may or may not have done a great job negotiating, only time will tell if they represent value like Aguero De Bruyne(probably) or poor value like Mangala or Jovetic.

The dippers paid about £30m for sadio mane; the market has gone up in price exponentially; £37m is not that bad at all for one of the most promising young talents in Europe

Also another thing people are forgetting; we have pep flipping guardiola; this is the highest profile manager we have ever had in our entire history and to not secure his desired targets over a few million would be unbelievably foolish; we can't let this window of time with pep slip away when it comes to player recruitment

Liverpool paid over £80m for Andy Carrol and Benteke in the last four years!

Pointless bothering about the fee. If it is high then the media will go on the usual anti-City rant about FFP, buying trophies and ruining football. If the fee is low, it's because the player isn't as good as we believe and that the Sheikh is losing interest in the game and is no longer ready to bankroll the club. I could be wrong but I just know that the Same transfer will be reported more in criticism than in praise because that is how the media treat City these days.

Mane is very good, mind. One of the most exciting players in the Prem at times last season

Them fucking dippers, inflating the market again ;-)

If the Rags are paying what is alleged for Pogba then can't see us paying £37m for any player is going to be looked at as wasting money or footballs gone mad

Football went mad years ago

Anyway has he signed yet
