Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

I'm with a couple of others here. Must admit first think I thought on seeing him doing the Sky interview was, Christ he's dropped some body fat. He looks really lean, moreso than I've seen him before even when at his fittest. Men of a certain age on here will know how much effort and commitment that takes no matter how much is going in the bank account every week. Hope he has a great season.

I don't think it's an odd comment at all - It's pretty clear from the last few weeks that Guardiola is making everybody lose weight. His standards are much higher it would seem, and everybody is going to be fitter, faster and stronger.

For older players like Zabaleta and Yaya, that might roll back the years a bit.

It's an odd comment because in his time here he's never looked anything but lean and mean.
 
He is fookin awesome. No team would have bullied us if de Jong would have stayed longer. Zabba and de Jong. Nails. Two heros of mine.

He looks fit and ready. Under pellers I would have got fat and not be arsed. Pellers wasn't arsed so why should the players...
 
If Zabba can get match sharp & turn back the clock, then it's like signing the best fullback in the world.

He wasn't that v Arsenal (he'd have stopped the shot for the first goal if he was) but they have been working their balls off in training every day apparently, so the pre season games are not a true reflection of their actual match condition.

They do pretty much all look as fit as I've ever seen them. Let's see how that translates when they are actually preparing for a real game. Having the genuine Zabba back, would be fantastic.
 
With so much young blood joining the club it can only be a good thing having someone in the dressing room who is City through and through :)
