I think it's disgusting that there are City fans who've actually decided that Guardiola's been underwhelming. This is the first game. They're going to change their tune pretty quickly when he gets us into full gear and we start winning trophies come next spring.

What were they expecting, five world class signings and a 7-0 on opening day? Despite all Pep's done to temper expectations some people still have theirs extraordinarily high. The Premier League has changed since the Mancini days when 5-0 and 8-2 happened on the same Saturday and nobody really thought it was all that weird.

I want Joe to stay as much as anyone, but if Pep doesn't think he can adapt- or maybe is not willing to adapt- then I know who I'm backing. We have the best manager in the world because we ant to be the best club in the world and it's crazy to expect us to get there without making sacrifices.
 
telling my 10yr son last night that Joe might be leaving was like sticking a dagger through his heart. He broke down like i havent seen him do since his rabbit died a few years ago. (dont laugh you b*******s) :-)
joe is his hero and now he doesnt like Pep anymore! Nice one Pep for ruining my kids life.

IF joe goes then he will go with my best regards. He was a bargain buy and has been a magnificent servant for us. but we must trust pep. we have the most revered coach in world football so let him build his squad and get behind him.

Can't believe this is still raging on. If this was just the usual managerial appointment because of terrible results, to steady the ship etc I'd be just as questioning about this Hart issue; however it isn't such a scenario, this is an appointment to take us to a level we have never been. This manager deals in minutiae, every nuance will be noticed and dealt with, he presumably doesn't believe Hart is quite as great as some in here and he obviously doesn't carry the sentiment and gratitude that we obviously hold for Hart - so he can make the decision far more clearly. There's going to be a lot of surgery and a lot of old favourites are going to be upset or leave us but it will be done with the sole intention of improving us to the very highest level - this may seem dispassionate, but if you want an elite team then this is what needs to be done.

I could take a guess at any number of reasons.
Maybe Joe hasn't got the capabilities to learn to the standard he requires, maybe Pep hasn't got the time to coach him and he won't stick around as no.2, it could be that he doesn't like his attitude or Joe might be unwilling to learn

He certainly knows best what he wants, rather than what you or I would like. No one knows whether he's making the right decision or not at this point but he's the one paid to make it.

The fact is that Hart has great strengths as a keeper but also significant weaknesses, which he really hasn't taken steps to eliminate. That alone is enough to justify the question "could we do better? "

But Pep may also know something that you or I don't know. For example, to take an extreme and hypothetical example, what if Pep knew that Joe was deliberately throwing games for money?

Is that just your opinion mate or do you think that's what Guardiola will be thinking? I'm only really talking Vinny here as I think the writing is on the wall for Yaya.

Yaya fair enough, but Kompany? You're the 2nd person to say that. Not seeing that, but I didn't see Hart either.

Yaya was gone last season (although most on here absolutely would not have it). The only issue I see with Kompany is his fitness. He's a footballing defender. Another defender who is similar in style to Stones so the only grounds to let him go would be if he was unable to continue due to injury and as far as I know, he's quite close to a comeback now.

The discussion has been had to death, no marks like you insist on throwing 'woe is joe' spiel because, fundamentally, you have no idea about the game. You've been to more games than me? Let's say this is true, how you'd know is another story, but it's true all the same, where in your ikkle little mind does that make you an authority??

So you use the 'Joe hart singing session' at the OK Corral as a form of defence, yet distance yourself from the party?? Bit yellow that, partner...

Opposite views I have no issue with, it's imbeciles who beat the injustice drum!!!

But he's in the squad. I think it's very very likely to be a footballing decision based on what he has seen in training and what he thought of the player before he arrived. I take the point that we don't see what Guardiola sees. It is still a mystery for me why he can't just pass the ball or throw the ball out of defence because I think he is quite adept with his feet, but we must accept Guardiola has the right to manage his squad - no point having a coach if you can't let them manage. The best scenario is that Bravo comes in, and Joe takes on board whatever it is that Guardiola wants, and we get two top keepers.

In regards to Vinnie, if he gets injured again this season it will probably be the end for him... real shame as he is a class act, a superb player and a fantastic captain for the club.
As far as Joe goes, I would hate to see him leave – if Bravo does come in, I would have expected Caballero to leave to be honest – and hopefully Joe rises to the challenge and puts the graft in... but you have to accept that his distribution is poor, and he always gets beat low to his left. Love the lad, and his passion for the club - but if you want to stay top of the game sometimes you have to swing the axe!
