Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

Love watching them squirm like this. Also got to smile at the nugget in a half-and-half scarf milling about taking selfies at 1:28
See those half and half scarves with PEG and Pep's faces on them? Christ on a bike. Whoever wears a half and half scarf wants taking out behind the gasometer and shooting.

Hahahahaha

Any more like this please?

After a summer of bullshit media stories that they were back they all seem genuinely shocked!!

They thought they'd got their swagger back after scoring in the 94th minute at Hull. They was back. It was fergie time again. Watch us go on an unbeaten run they said. Jose is better than pep, pep will struggle to contain pogba and big nose, their fans was back to their crowing best, gobbing it off that they'll batter us.....meanwhile we said nothing, nobody said a word, our ex players said fuck all, our fans went about their business as usual and stood listening to the rag bigmouths.
And then we went and owned them in their stinking shitpit.
El Señor.
Absolutley spot on,which makes it sweet as fuck.

Just watched the game. Only one word to share. Euphoria.

One of the best first halfs I've ever seen. Penalty or not, we deserve the win. And to think if the team had sustained the first half performance for a little longer! What would the scoreline have been?

That's the exciting thing, he's only scratched the surface on what this squad can do.

Still got Kompany, Sane, Gundogen and the arrival of Jesus in Jan, once the fitness levels are up we'll start to see the real City under Pep unfold before our eyes........

This and more.
Can't wait for 2 to 3 months time - never mind Jesus arriving in January

15th time I have been to the swamp for a derby and the first time I have been there when we have won. Hearing mourinho crying about refereeing decisions on the way home was the icing on the cake. At times an awesome display but when it wasn't we showed bottle and fight. It all looks so promising.

A pleasing post match analysis from Phil McNulty on the BBC website.
I have got so used to their usual anti-city and pro-rag bias, it is refreshing to read something balanced and pretty much on the nail.

A couple of nuggets:

"The bottom line is United were second best and this was something of a cold shower for the over-excitement of some who believed 'The Special One' could apply an instant fix to the faults of the past three seasons under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal."

"The Catalan has opened up with four straight Premier League wins, this victory at Old Trafford marking them out as the team to beat in the title race this season.
It is, of course, early days but City's ability to win with key players either suspended, injured or working their way to full fitness means a significant marker was put down in this derby win.
It was a win achieved without the banned Aguero and without influential captain Vincent Kompany who is nearing a return, as is summer signing Ilkay Gundogan, who was also absent."

United fans were even more depressed after the game yesterday than they usually are after getting beat in a derby. The reason being that they actually thought they had a world beating team after the SUPPOSED mega signings. As the first half progressed yesterday the realisation that City were on a completely different level to them must have really hurt. By the end of the game they were actually chuffed and almost celebrating that they were able to compete with us a little in the second half and not look totally outclassed.

I can even sympathise with how they are feeling in a way but I won't get too upset about it???!!. As a City fan, if I had to sit through that first half watching United completely play us off the park then I would be utterly miserable too.
Didn't you read the build up???
They rinsed us in the transfer market over the summer!!
So much so that we started with 3 players signed over the summer, one of whom was playing his first game, whose combined fees were less than one single player - yet for 40 minutes it looked like we'd been together forever.

Bailly obviously didn't fancy a challenge with Kel (the lead up to the first goal). And Kel isn't exactly Mr Universe material, is he? He's tall, but he isn't the heftiest lad around. If Ota or Stones let a forward have an unchallenged header that then led to a goal, this place would go into meltdown. And rightly so. You're a defender; defend.
Shrek didn't exactly fancy a one on one with AK when he looked up and saw who it was, the cowardly, bullying, ugly, horrible, potato headed ****
