Yaya Toure apologises

Assuming this is true I'm sure the word "sorry" will have been uttered in whatever format is required.

I'm glad, as much as I detest Seluk and as much as Yaya has pissed me off, and I know he doesn't fit our style, I cant help but say that I'd still like to see him play for us when required or in a cameo.

We owe a lot of where we are today to the guy.

Even if he apologies. He is gonna find it hard to even get on the bench (when everyone is fit). That's if he can even work hard enough off the ball.

Never mind whatever format....He says SORRY, or fu*k him

For example, Mourihno is known to be a tough coach who takes no nonsense from players, but when he wasn't playing Kevin, and Kev believed he deserved to be played, Kevin said "I'm out." Why coz Kevin's talent and Perception of his talent told him he was better off without Mourihno. Kev backed himself and today it's hard to say he was wrong.
Had he towed the line, and become a backup or "stay and prove to the manager he is worthy" as many pundits like to bleat, I doubt he'd have become the worldy he is with us today.
Funny enough the very same was the case for Yaya at Barca, pigeonholed into a DM role and asked to stay and backup Busquet. He too like Kev said no, came to us and became one of the most dominant CMs here. Had he too towed the line, and stayed as a backup at Barca, he's time and worth would have been diminished. And he'd have never achieved the individual accomplishments he did here.
True managers have to consider the team overall and over any player. And axe, demote, reprimand and oust those who don't fit for one reason or another, but in the same vein, players who "back themselves" will do the same. If it's not working here or even id it is and you believe there is something better, reach for it. It is only those who try that achieve greatness.
If your manager or club doesn't rate you as highly as you think they should, back yourself and go find a manager and team that will. The fans will boo you, but your new fans will celebrate you when you deliver. And there is nothing wrong with either position, if we are being honest that is. :-)

Truth be Told. @ Barca Pep was wrong about Yaya. Can Pep be wrong twice?

Pep was most definitely not wrong about Yaya at Barcelona. Great as he was, you aren't going to find a place for him in the Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets midfield even at his best.

Not only was that midfield absolutely magnificent individually, they were the perfect Barcelona midfield. Which is why they won the CL and league the season after selling Yaya, and it was probably the best they got under Pep.

If Seluk really does apologise then good. Yaya can still be a useful member of the squad, and I'm thinking mostly in terms of games like Southampton and Everton where he can come off the bench and thunder one in from 25 yards.

It's a long season and anyone saying he would be of no use are basically demented

this situation has suited pep down to the ground, he has been able to ostracise yaya and blame it on his cockwomble of an agent, when in reality yaya was never suited to peps high press, high energy game. Peps the man, he's in complete control and Seluk has played right into his hands.

I'll be leaving that decision to our head coach...

...but thank you anyhow.

If, and it's a big if he/they apologise then if Yaya was selected, I only think he could start in one position as his legs have gone.

Either starting as makeweight CD or the odd cameo 10-20 mins off the bench. This is to put him in the shop window for when he goes in January.

Leg-end.

Yaya is smart enough to know that his days are numbered despite the apology . As others said , he can be a useful impact sub.

This is his last year regardless and he deserves a farewell similar to what Hart received !

It would be nice if he can bring this whole sad episode to a close. As much crap that has gone on he will always be center of
some of my greatest sports memories.

Hope this can now be resolved, although Seluk seems to have stopped short of actually apologising. Toure doesn't deserve such an ignominious exit from the club, and can be a useful option from the bench. Could've done with him in the recent draws against Everton and Southampton.

What apology?

This agent is one abominable jerk who needed to show some respect to our great club - irrespective of how we all loved Yaya, he was not bigger than MCFC but his tosser of an agent doesn't get that. Pep took steps to put MCFC above the pair of them & hopefully it has worked. Having said that - hope the matter is soon resolved & Yaya can leave with our love, perhaps play in the odd game.

However, I'm sure his agent will pop up with an "exclusive" once Yaya goes - because he's a snake.

Hope some sort of confidentiality agreement is worked into any severance pay!!
