Yaya Toure apologises

Different persons of course but Pep and Seluk will not back down easily.
I suppose there is a common interest in that City need rid of the problem and cost while Seluk needs to negotiate a new deal with a new club by appearing to be a reasonable person even the victim after his unfortunate antics apparently supported by his player.

We don`t need either of them at the club nowadays.Been a wonderful player for the club but he`ll be lucky to get about 15 minutes playing time under Peps way of playing.

If he were to play how Pep wants him to, that's probably about all he could manage. If that.

put him in the team on Saturday. make him captain. monday give him another year on the same money then tuesday bench the **** again for the whole 18 months. career over and don't you or anyone else dare fuck with city again.

Hope this can now be resolved, although Seluk seems to have stopped short of actually apologising. Toure doesn't deserve such an ignominious exit from the club, and can be a useful option from the bench. Could've done with him in the recent draws against Everton and Southampton.

I don't agree Ric. This is entirely in Toure's hands and the fact that he's been in the wilderness for the past 3 months is down to him. And regards the football, it's taken me years to come to terms with the fact that although Toure is an incredible player who can do amazing things, he is also a massive liability. Bringing him on means you're playing with 10 men when you don't have the ball. And actually it's worse than 10 men because at least with 10 men you know you only have 10 men and can try to compensate. Had we brought him on against Everton and Southampton, we may well have lost those games.

Extremely talented player but I agree Chippy_boy he simply would try to change the flow of the game to suit himself and his preferences rather than carry out the all action teamwork passing game that pep insists on.
Teamwork would suffer and others who have bought into the pep methods would ask why Yaya was allowed to act selfishly.

If the apology comes we shouldn't be too proud to accept it. It's a long season and he's an employee of the club. He can still be useful, either in a defensive role or as an attacking midfield for 20 mins here and there. Let's not cut off our nose to spite our face. His agent's still a prick.

I think Yaya has been put in a very difficult position, all the problems with the club have been caused by his agent.

Regardless of what people on here think of him, he has been a fantastic player for us and probabily one of the most important players in the prem in recent years..

Yaya is very loyal to his agent as he helped him during the early part of his career, this is the reason he puts up with all his crazy rants..

I really hope thay can sort it out so that Yaya can play for us again, for what he has done for us i feel he deserves that..

Of course, if he apologises then he should be available for selection, no question.

Whether he should play at all is a different question. The problem is we cannot play him and either of the Ferns alone in a midfield 2. We have to play a midfield 3 if he plays, and then who do we drop? I just can't see how he fits in now.

I agree. If truth be told he shouldn't have played in a 2 for a while now. No, his best role would be for 20 mins at the end of a game, either in a midfield 3 where we're trying to close a game down or as an attacking player if we need a goal. As long as we don't make too many demands on his stamina he could be useful to us. That's what we should be thinking about rather than getting some sort of revenge on Yaya and his agent. We can call him all the names under the sun when he's gone, although you would hope this could be a chance to build a few bridges.

That was to Chippy.

Toure has had plenty of time and opportunity to rectify the situation he has created,he's chosen otherwise.Very much an egotistical, disruptive influence - and, from my perspective,a character i've never taken to,i really hope he finally does the decent thing in January, and finds himself another employer.

Personality and character aside,i no longer believe his football is in keeping with the effort and style Pep demands,we'd simply be accomodating him, which would then heap pressure on everyone else - His time here is definitely up.

Strange how we all moan about the media, yet believe all the bad things that we've read about Yaya.

I prefer to remember the good times, so no petty grudges from me.
Hopefully a mutual agreement to leave in January and Good Luck in the future.

how did we beat Barca without yaya?!?! He's the best player on the planet. Apologise get in the squad and end your city career on a high and with the appreciation your contribution deserves.

P.s shut your mouth and shut the mouth of that dipstick agent.

Quick message to yaya :)

It's an important message to send out. Even at academy level, we have had a couple of parent/agents being outspoken against the club. We are the foremost academy in England and one of the very best in Europe. It is not good practise to publicly criticise your employer in any industry but certainly not when your employer is recognised as being the best in its field. Hopefully, the situation with Pep and Seluk will send a message that, no matter how good you are, no player or prospect is bigger than the club.

I also speak as someone who believes that Yaya is the best midfielder of his generation. He has been magnificent but is no longer suited to the style of game that we wish to play.
