Liverpool - post match thread.

SM has invested in the local community and a massive amount in City's infrastructure. He bought City as a young man. However, the amount he's invested in City does not guarantee that he won't move on to other projects. That's my big fear. Only my opinion. Don't get so uptight.
8 years on, he's still a young man, and he's still invested it all, it never was a short term project, and that campus thing across Alan Turing Way is testament as to why he won't be bailing out, so your fear/opinion is that of someone who is either an outsider, or clueless, and I'm not being 'uptight' I'm saying the reality of it.

Think today sums up the season so far. Our defence is a piss take and still can't understand why we haven't invested in the full back position over the last few transfer windows.

Was hopeful that Pep would deliver the PL in his first year, but obviously not going to happen.

I still think that over the course of his contract with us he'll win things, not sure what, but he'll bring us a trophy or two I reckon.

Let's hope for a better 2017 for the boys in blue.

Yawn.....Yeh right, he's spent millions on the club and infrastructure, together with getting into bed with the city council and investing even more millions in the local area. Dont even think about the investment in CFG with teams in New York and Melbourne, investments in clubs in Japan and China, with more to come in South Africa and South America... Yeh he is obviously so pissed off that he's to pack it all in and going to sell...Give it a rest
bluwes, Not saying he will sell, but it's a possibility and you have to be very naive to close your mind to that. City are his marquee club - the others are not on the same planet as City.

TBH, there's nothing in that post of any real interest or relevance to anything. Pep's been in charge six months. Only someone who lives on an island and doesn't follow football would suggest that he's under any pressure from the people who employ him.

I like you but lads on your pods say much the same as I do - underwhelmed etc.

Tell me , why is it any different than what some say on here or do you get make up applied when on a P Cast?

HH and ST amongst others say the same as many on here.

Liverpool fan here.

Klopp didn't have a first great season but has improved the squad greatly this season.

As you lot said about us you will be a lot better next season under Kloppite.

Don't be blinded by your anger.

Happy new year our Mancunian cousins and all the best.
Thats the worst ive seen you all season thought you were shite, but even a team playing shite can beat a team that dosen't bother shooting

bluwes, your judgment is as bad as Karen's and one or two other paranoid members. I'm a lifelong blue. 'Raggy comment.......' How pathetic can you get. Put yourself in SM's position. Super rich though he is, he's invested hundreds of millions in the team and doesn't quite have the progress he will have hoped for. Hart, Kompany and Zaba were bought for bargain prices before SM came. Silva was a bargain at £24m in SM's time. However, although his investment has delivered a level of success we always dreamed of, if I was SM I would still be disappointed when looking at the bigger picture. When we're not winning the Prem we should be a close second - 100 per cent constant effort.

FFS, if you haven't got the gumption to understand the importance of Manchester City to SM as a vehicle of promotion to Abu Dhabi as a country, and not just in terms of sporting achievement, but also, if you believe Mathew Sayeed in The Times, as a means of shoring up Western support, then you can't be helped. Sheikh Mansour leaving is every brain dead rag's most demented fantasy, and you'll have to forgive us for doubting the credentials of a claimed Blue trotting out the same ill considered cobblers. If you are a City fan then I'm sorry to have been blunt with you

I don't think you should get berated or 'banned' for saying what for many of us would be our worst fears. Like Cleavers I think SM's project was not purely waiting for the coming of Pep and will not end when Pep goes. However if I was him I'd be thinking wtf. If so he's learnt what it is to be a City fan wtf wtf wtf.

If he's learnt what it is to be a City fan, he'll have seen the New Year in with a rendition of "We never win at home and we never win away..." rather than Auld Lang Fucking Syne..

He could sell but I think it's far more likely that the Sheikh will invest further to expand the Etihad and expand the CFG.

He's making a profit, increasing the value of his assets and promoting Abu Dhabi. There's not much to worry about there.

Thank you NOTW.

Haha! Very true.

Also, I've never heard of anyone getting banned from Bluemoon for whingring. Being too positive carries a greater risk of getting an early bath.

Ps: inwill be drinking near Liverpool St on Friday so might see you there.

Not being funny mate but we shouldn't have gone into this season with Zabba, Clichy and Kolorov as our main fullbacks , we've been waiting for this overhaul for two seasons.

What will happen is we will try to buy in the summer and spend another 200 million on players we hope will make the grade, the likes of Otimendi, Mangala, Stones, Sane have a lot to prove as it is, bringing in another 4-5 new faces will mean another transitional season to look forward too bedding in new players in a new league.

It's poor.

Don't disagree - but we are where we are and we can only now deal with the situation how it is. We have relied on a core group of players for too long and most of them are past their sell by dates. We have wasted millions in the last 3 1/2 to 4 years on players who simply are not up to it. We need to rebuild the core of the side with players who perform at the highest level consistently and have both fight and bottle. At the moment too many of our players hide.

I don't agree, ignoring the conceding of possession, it was way to easy to move the ball from there to Lallana, we could have done better cutting out the cross (Zab), and good header that it was, Kolarov's defending of it was awful, hopelessly the wrong side of the player despite managing to get in front him him at one point (not to mention the question of where both CB's were ?).

In my book it was very poor, nobody should be scoring 10 seconds after we concede the ball on the edge of our opponents box.

Disagree all you like but I didn't say we couldn't have defended better; however it's debatable whether Zab could have done more, you could also question whether Sterling could have helped, but the cross was excellent and Windjam timed his run and executed his header perfectly. Kolarov was in line with the rest of the defence because he got back their quickly; unfortunately, he had to attempt a standing jump against a player who had a run up so he was left at a distinct disadvantage so I am not sure how much to criticise him.

I'd have to rewatch but I think the centre backs may have been guilty of being sucked towards the ball.
