Darren Cann | Named as linesman vs Palace for his final game (p11)

Kudos to the OP for spotting this in the first place, and to those who flagged it on social media.

I guess it could work both ways, might feel he has something to prove to show he isnt in anyway considered biased towards Palace. Hopefully being one of the best linesman in english football (i know that probably doesnt say a great deal considering what we see on a weekly basis) means he might be less prone to utter incompetence. I worry far more about what they blatantly get wrong on a weekly basis than who he played youth team football for in the 80's.
That is just as bad as being biased in the first place and detracts from the integrity of objective officiating as well. Good call to withdraw him, putting him in just caused an issue where it need not exist

Don't know how it was even allowed in the first place, of course it's a conflict of interest.

This place will go into meltdown once Taylor is appointed to next ref our game.

I believe Cann is still running the line against West Ham next week. Watch out for him getting his revenge for him being taken off the Palace game

I think if the FArce were being dodgy the would have been a bit more underhand about it. This situation highlights just how utterly incompetent the whole organisation actually is.

Alternatively, it's a huge double bluff designed to make us think they are being fair, when in fact they are going to ram rod us without even the courtesy of using lube.

Thank you for contacting The Football Association.

Darren Cann was incorrectly listed as an official for the Emirates FA Cup fourth round fixture between Crystal Palace and Manchester City. This was due to an administrative error which has now been rectified.
