I fear Martinelli played himself out of the team with that performance he had tonight. I know most people here don't rate Sterling anymore, but even a declining Sterling is miles better than Martinelli.

Is Gundo better suited to coming off the bench now? Granted that the Brentford match is still fresh in my mind, and it was his first start, it was worrying how off-the-pace he looked.

Exceptional is over the top, but they're undoubtedly very good, which is reflected by the bookmaker's odds. It's not often, if ever, under Pep, you can get City at home at 1.80 to get all three points.

Well, if Gundo finished that header, it would have been.

    26 | Savinho - 2024/25

Much quicker? No way. I'm still waiting to see Savinho go around someone with the ball, let alone as efficiently and consistently as Bobb was.

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

I like Jack, but I don't understand these shouts. The one time he received the ball centrally last night, it was taken off him, and Inter almost scored on the ensuing counterattack. He's not better than anyone we have centrally.

More than just "a" level, IMO.

    Womens Champions League 2024/25

I just watched the highlights and holy shit, that second goal she scored was some beautiful football by her and the team.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

I think you're right. We're more easily bypassed with him leading the line, but in the grand scheme that's probably a small price to pay for one of the best strikers ever.

I really don't get people calling for Walker to come back in. He was a liability last year, in his ten-minute cameo against West Ham, and only a little less poor against Brentford. Rico has kept Kudus, Pedro Neto, Rashford, and Nkunku all in his pocket in as many games, not to mention the...

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

I'd have to watch the game back to conclude how he played, but I'm not doing that. It was one of those where it's 'sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.' He certainly worked his tail off defensively.

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2024/25

Any word on him? That was about as bad as I've ever seen him play, although his third game in just over a week seemed like a lot to begin with. He still created some good chances and had a chance to score himself in his defence.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2024/25

He clearly prefers the left but still had an impactful came- he should have come on earlier.

    Who wasn't bar Gvardiol/Dias/Ederson?

    26 | Savinho - 2024/25

In hindsight, he should have played another 15-20 minutes, but I remember being okay with him coming off at HT. He's clearly a good player but also quite raw.

I thought he took too long on the ball tonight, but as I said, I thought he was good defensively.

Inter (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

I agree with you. I love Akanji, and I thought defensively he was good tonight, but on the ball, he drives me mad sometimes. For as two-footed as he is, he takes far too long to move the ball at times.

    16 | Rodri 2024/25

He looked like the Rodri we signed many years ago. He looked to be running with ankle weights, although he grew into the game.
