Wolves PL (A) | Man of the Match

“Showing up Jack” - Jack’s been injured and isn’t fit yet. It’s the only reason we’ve seen so much of Doku on the left. And Doku didn’t show him up at all yesterday. Yesterday’s distinct lack of control and ball retention by the majority of the players showed how much we need Jack in games like...

    27 | Matheus Nunes - 2023/24

Weird one yesterday, he didn’t have an atrocious first half IMO (a bit loose with retaining the ball but not unlike a few others) so at the time I assumed he was taken off because the booing was a) either getting to him and affecting his play or b) successfully spurring on Wolves. A half time...

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2023/24

Doku’s biggest problem is through no fault of his own - being hyped up in some quarters as the next Messi and being used as a stick to beat Grealish with while he was out injured. It’s all been very unedifying the last few weeks and some of our online “fanbase” and a few on here can be blamed...

Wolves PL (A) | Post Match Discussion

Feels like this has been coming for weeks for various reasons: Injuries have buggered us. Not only no KDB, Stones and Bernardo but Grealish was out for weeks so isn’t fit yet (needs a few games to run into form), Kova was also injured and isn’t yet fit. A transition period of some of the old...

    47 | Phil Foden - 2023/24

Agree. Seemed a bit lost today and his effectiveness nullified. I can see him stepping up massively against Arsenal though, if Pep doesn’t have another brain fart.

    19 | Julian Alvarez - 2023/24

His free kicks are sublime - stunning goal today

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

I was going to say it’s laughable that he’s getting slated when he was brought on at 80 minutes, but in fact it’s just quite pitiful.

What's our strongest lineup when everybody is fit?

Exactly, the recency bias to that team is absurd. Sure, let’s just drop Grealish, Alvarez, Bernardo, Walker, Ake etc…

What's our strongest lineup when everybody is fit?

There’s a lot of short term memories on here replacing treble-winning players with new signings when we haven’t faced a truly difficult team yet…

    Wolves (A) - Sat 30th Sept, 15:00 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

It was his first game back from injury and tbf he did look knackered in the second half particularly, I wouldn’t judge him on Wednesday’s game. No player coming back from injury is going to be at the top of their game - there’s no substitute for match fitness.

Bobb all day for me, really encouraging performance last night

Newcastle (A) | Wed 27th Sept | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

What’s worse is that so far on here I’ve seen the usual lazy judgemental tropes whittled out about him celebrating the treble and drinking as though it’s an unforgivable act and has some bearing on the fact that - nearly 4 months later - he’s just recovered from an injury that kept him out for...

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

First 90 mins since coming back from injury in a game Pep never really wanted to win and with a bit of a hodge-podge line up but of course he’s shit isn’t he. If I could put money on the predictable posts on here I’d be rich by now.

    Newcastle United (A) - Wed 27th Sept, 20:00 | EFL Cup | Pre-Match Thread

I may well be wrong but I can’t see Pep sacking this one off - at least not so obviously anyway - because it’s not his mentality and he won’t want to be sending the wrong messages. Can see Phillips and Lewis starting this one but will expect Pep to go strong elsewhere on the pitch, with...

    16 | Rodri - 2023/24

Absolutely mad moment from Rodri, and it was clear he knew he’d made a massive fuck up by the look on his face when he walked off the pitch. It’s really not ideal at all but what’s done is done - we got the 3 points, Rodri will get a deserved bollocking and punishment from Pep, he will get a...

    Kalvin Phillips

Put in a good shift today when he was unexpectedly thrown onto the pitch in difficult circumstances and with a shit ref not helping matters. Part of the team that helped us keep a clean sheet. Hopefully he can start on Weds and we can see a full 90 mins. We will need his help with Rodri out the...

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

Nice to see one of the resident Grealish haters getting back into the thread literally the moment he sets foot on the pitch again. Jesus Christ.

Gone for a win here. 4-1 with Haaland getting a brace.

    Injuries - 2023/24 | Ederson cleared to return to training (p 146)

Absolutely. City are careful with what training images they put out ahead of matches, which is why their training photo galleries sometimes only feature single shots of 5 or 6 players. Frustrating for fans but it’s clear they do it for a reason.

What "Classic" songs do you hate with a passion?

The only correct answer to this thread. I’ve had an irrational hatred of this song for my entire life. Not keen on anything the Beatles ever did.
