£56 for home games

Stand by for a season of pisstaking about not selling out our home matches. Unless the tourists agencies sell them there will be some empty seats on display. £51 for level 3 against a newly promoted team that is live on sky, is a tenner too much

And to think I used to pay at the gate as a kid the princely sum of 25 pence in the Kippax...

That price was a compensation, if you ever dared to have a shit

Does anyone know what the actual percentage of seat tickets (not hospitality) goes towards the expenditure of wages of employee's at the club?

-- Wed Jul 25, 2012 8:21 pm --

Does anyone know what the actual percentage of seat tickets (not hospitality) goes towards the expenditure of wages of employee's at the club?

sad to see the club take this approach, i think they're dipping their toe in the water to establish what is the highest price they can charge and still sell out

its basic supply and demand, the only potential resolution is increased capacity

A sad day in our history, said it 3 years ago but every season we are becoming a clone of the rags, sad to see.

They are the masters of money making...

Doubt that our owners would like to be the opponent of a big money making business.

Of course it is a sad sad fact but a rich (new) fan is more important than a poor loyal fan.

Wouldnt call it the price of success because average attendances maybe are a bit small for recent years at clubs like Villa, Fulham, Blackburn, Everton...
They arent successful in th last 2-3 years. Still they faced some higher ticket prices.

Big tours to Asia, USA is all about gathering new fans worldwide. More fans more money. Lot more fans, lot more money. Part of the real loyal fans cant go to matches anymore? Hopefully they will still buy the new shirt at least every year, make sure there is a new shirt (away, home) every year...

not at those prices we won't, but I assume there is a game 1 Champions premium here. Never thought I would have cut back on the away matches due to ticket prices but I have, we all have our price elasticity point, and for an average City fan in a recession £56 is too steep in my view

Every ground in premier are charging around this amount!

Until we get wages down across Europe and bring in standing areas it's not going to change

I signed up to the all the cup game as well dread to think what price the champion leagues game are :-/

So on a day when it is announced that Britain is going deeper and deeper into recession. This football club has killed any chance of any loyal local supporter of attending any games.

With all due respect mate that's a load of bull. There are 30 odd thousand loyal blues who don't pay anywhere near that amount cos they have season tickets and have had them for years. It costs my less than £30 a match.
Not bad to watch the standard of football currently served up imo.
How many on here will pay £56 for every home match?
Very few i'll wager.
