We shouldn't pay a penny more than 17m, walk away if they ask for any more
Why 17million?

What is this based on?
Based on then rejecting 15m from west ham, so they won't let him go for that, 20m is far too much for him, so IMO, what he will bring to the table we are being had if we pay more than 17m

I'm really struggling to get excited over him

1 - Why are you basing any figure on what someone else offered for him ? If someone had tried to get him for 3m, would that make THAT your lower end figure ?

2 - On what do you base your assertion that 20m is far too much for him ? Is it on his presence in the national team or the goals he scores ? Or is it the fact that his name isn't Cavani ?

3 - Unsurprisingly, I am not disappointed at you struggling to get excited over him. I expect that these two things are equally (ir)relevant when assessing his qualities/potential as a footballer.

Not going to respond to your trying to be condescending due to me having a different opinion to you. Looking at your other posts, I'm quite glad that you disagree with me.

Forget about the money it's not our money looks at his goal scoring record over the last 4 seasons in a side that isn't as good as ours..
But if we're going to spend 20m on him surely it would have made more sense keeping tevez for two years and saving the excess on a younger player when available?

Which bit of "I want to leave" did you not understand from Tevez? If he didn't want to stay we couldn't have made him. It's not like giving him a pay rise would have made a difference given the money he was on.

Are you stuck in 2012? He wanted to stay another few years, his problem was with Mancini not city in the end

If that were all it was, Tevez would have stayed since he knew Bobby was already gone.

Carlos had one foot out the door.

No he didn't. Manuel wanted to speak to Tevez when he took over. He did that, and Tevez confirmed he wanted out.

But Tevez didn't have two years on his contract.

From the mail:

Striker Tevez confirmed he had asked to leave City.He said: 'I spoke to Manuel Pellegrini as soon as he arrived at City. I told him I considered my time at the club to be over. He said that was fine by him.'Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2350226/Manchester-City-target-keeper-Willy-Caballero-defender-Pepe.html#ixzz2YNVYBRd2 Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
