Negredo looks a good player on paper. But I think we are gambling buying this player.I would rather have Suarez or Higuian, more proven.

Suarez is a completely different type of striker than Negredo, so preferring Negredo would be a tactical thing. Negredo and Higuain are more similar but also have some differences. These things will be considered rather than just picking the best strikers out of a hat. Which one compliments Aguero the best, which one suits the system, which one can play a certain role, etc...

We will start with 3 strikers plus Guidetti I think. Kun will be up top on his own.

I think we'd struggle this way as Silva and Navas aren't prolific enough in front of goal for Aguero to drop deep and pick up the ball.

I can see us playing a 4-2-3-1 formation with 2 attacking wide men and an advanced central player (Silva/Nasri) making up the three supporting a lone Kun. Yaya and Fernandinho could be the 2 DM players. Many options for personnel, but a likely formation?

i thought the whole point of the structure was to play a 4-3-3 system through the whole club and i just dont see it with the current team. i can actually see us playing 4-4-2 with navas/milner and nasri/silva on the wings with kun alongside dzeko/negredo.

In the meantime Atletico have signed David Villa which clears the way for Negredo to join City.

Impossible not to do. Negredo is an ideal player for the Premier. Strong, quality, good shot, going well head.

Michu was adapted to be worse than Negredo at all.

Would make sense to most people that would. But there are a number on here who would think that resigning RSC would be a masterstroke and Pellgrini knows how to play him etc etc.

If the Negredo signing fails then all we have to do is take a loss on the fee as his wages will be at a acceptable rate. If we had signed Cavani or Falcao and the move went tits up then the club is in a whole lot of trouble.
