There's going to be a few blues eating their words this coming season!

One of those overhead kicks on his debut should just about do it. Good signing in my opinion, and will leave us with a budget to improve our left side midfield and defence.

I´ve watched Negredo many, many times here and if this is true then I have to say I´m pretty underwhelmed. Michu would have been a better bet but neither of them are of the class needed to mount serious challenges imho
Sorry - but that´s always been my opinion of him and I´m not going to change that just because he may or may not sign for us
A fourth/fifth choice striker for Spain - a department they are lacking in frankly re "world class"

How many teams have two world class strikers. We have Aguerro, Rags have RvP, Chelsea don't have one at present, Barca didnt have one last year have one, Madrid don't have one (unless you count Messi and Ronaldo as strikers which most don't), Bayern dont have one and won everything.

Start looking at who won things in the last 5 years and how many of them had two truly world class strikers playing

Stop it John!!

Your just too fucking sensible for this forum! ;)

Someone started a thread on him a few weeks ago and most people were saying they wouldn't be interested.

Now we're properly linked with him everyone jumps on the bandwagon saying he's a brilliant signing. Much of the same thing happened when we were signing Sinclair last year.

It's like people can't have their own opinions in this place. If you don't like the prospect of signing a player then fucking stick to your guns, don't just put the blinders on.

I remember that Sinclair thread from last summer quite well. A handful of blues were warning that he wasn't good enough and got shouted down by the angry bees. I'm getting deva vu.

Its called self-deception syndrome.

My argument is this regarding this lad.

Is he at the same level or better than Tevez??

I always thought the rule with signings was that they have to be at least as good if not better than the players they replace. Sorry not seen much of this lad but I doubt he will be better or as good as Tevez. I am slightly concerned regarding our striking options.

Aguero-World fucking class of that there is no doubt.
Dzeko-Not good enough-Had enough time to form my opinion
Guidetti-Not even sure this lad will be fit in time for the season and one hell of a risk thinking he will be at the required level
Negredo-Not seen enough of him.
Yes he is. Tevez scored 15 league goals in two seasons.

You can't make a statement saying he's better than tevez mate
None of us know that yet
I guess we will find out soon enough

I think Sam is going off solely goals.
I am concerned mate...Unless we get one of Cavani,Lewandowski,Suarez I honestly feel we will not be strong enough up top.

But he might fit into the system better. If he is a goal hanger then he isn't going to be dropping back into Silva's space and with Navas out wide there should be a lot more space of Nasri, Silva and Aguero

Hahahaha morning mate....I think you need to change your location pal after your 100% he is signing for us!!

*hides* tbf to me, Isco had agreed everything with us but that's not for this thread.

On to Negredo, very underrated signing

after sining Fernendiho, I'm not too bothered if we sign Negredo or no one upfront. Kun and Dzeko will be enough. This is our season.

What exactly are 'our standards'?

Competitors for the league.
We will be competitor's for the league with Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko or Aguero, Cavani and Dzeko. We have the midfield and options now to ensure that is the case. The problem, from what I can tell, is that because he isn't the player other clubs are after, the so called 'big name signing', he just will be very poo indeed. There's no guarantee that 'big name' will do any better or worse than Negredo, but it is ok though because he is a big name and will cost £50m and make other clubs take note. If that's what fans base a signing on, what others will think, well it's a poor state of affairs.

A £24m Spanish forward who scores goals. Loads to be sad about that isn't there?!

well getting rid of tevez/balotelli for negredo is not improving at all, its a step backwards but i reckon he will do okay for us, so im not too bothered

In the last two years, Tevez has scored 21 goals in all competitions, Balotelli in the same time, scored 20.

In that time, Negredo scored 45.

So please, tell me how it's a step backward?

Really ? So you think the guys from Barcelona and Pellegrini are deceiving themselves and us by suggesting the lofty targets are to win every trophy available whilst downgrading the squad.

Do me a favour ... last summer Mancini picked some fucking duds ... this summer we've got two guys who know the players they're signing inside and out. Before you go labelling a bunch of Blues as one thing or another how about you let the season start and see where we are in December.
