10 clubs vote against giving EFL a share of the PL money

Who'd have thought that Liverpool, those bastions of morality, are seemingly unwilling to help out those lower down the football pyramid? Not very socialist of them.

United not voting against is possibly noteworthy, just because they, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and to a lesser extent Chelsea tend to vote as a block. Maybe a bit soon to read too much into it, but it does feel generally that there is a shifting dynamic within the PL teams.
Out of curiosity, would you mind expanding on your statement? Which clubs and why you think so?

They forget that English clubs were banned from Europe as a result of their antics. You'd think they would show a bit of humility and respect given their form.
Humility is something that is the business of other teams, the same teams which have to shovel respect at the Dippers' door. Is there a more shameless and disrespectful club booting a ball about a pitch?

They can't offer any EFL clubs a slice 'cos they won't have any money left for the champagne.

Am I right that Dan Roan implies city were involved in this in his reporting last night?
How very dare you question the methods of the breathless Mr Roan?! I saw that news bulletin report and posted my appraisal of it just afterwards. Have a look at this below.. and as Victoria Wood put it, just 'think on and look sharp Martha Longhurst!'..:

"First class, thorough report on the PL/EPL payments spat on tonight's BBC1 Six'o'clock News programme, which left me in no doubt as to just WHO is behind the PL's reluctance to cascade its mountain of moolah down the English football pyramid.

Interviewing former City and FA chairman David Bernstein in front of the Etihad, while also talking over footage of City's players prior to the Liverpool game at the Etihad earlier this season, the (breathless) Dan Roan informed us that 'some Premier League clubs' had voted down the proposal to give greater financial support to the EPL.

Sadly, he didn't mention WHICH clubs were actually in favour of the proposal to give lower league clubs more money.

However, I for one am grateful to Dan Roan for this, as ever, fulsome, insightful overview of ALL the issues involved in this impasse between the PL and the EPL.

I look forward to welcoming 'some clubs' to our gaff over the coming months. I shall be giving them a piece of my mind from the terraces, letting them know just how cross I am (I could, literally, rip a tissue..) with them for their selfishness. And further, that I demand they mend their silly ways as soon as possible for the benefit of the entire English football 'family'.."

Those who voted against:
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Spurs
West Ham
Wolves
Nottingham Forest
Aston Villa
Crystal Palace
AFC Bournemouth

Bit surprising that some who were in the EFL a short time ago being so against it. Less surprising from the greedy cartel.

But 2 or 3 of those clubs will say they're all for fair play in other areas...

Is this list confirmed or speculation?

Who are the owners of those Clubs?
  • Liverpool - Fenway Sports Group (USA)
  • Arsenal - Stan Kroenke (USA)
  • Chelsea - Tod Boehly/Clearlake Capital (USA)
  • Spurs - ENIC Group (Bahamas)
  • West Ham - Mixed Bag (English/Czech)
  • Wolves - Fosun Int. (China)
  • Forest - Evangelos Marinakis (Greek)
  • Villa - V Sports (USA/Egypt)
  • Palace - Mixed Bag (USA/British)
  • Bournemouth - Bill Foley (USA)
A very strong USA presence and on the whole people with no real affinity to the lower tiers of English football.
