10 clubs vote against giving EFL a share of the PL money

There's a lot more than 92 to be fair, most of the national league is pro.

...and why not ?

Personally I think the money should filter down further than it does.
If they can all be run sustainably then yep, why not. I just don’t think that means only being able to function because of handouts from the league above.

Of course one way of helping the precious must-be-preserved-at-all-costs pyramid is if the PL added an EPL surcharge to the cost of all PL season tickets and match day tickets. I’m sure that would get plenty of support, especially on here.

Sport basically has to be a little bit communist, otherwise the same teams will win all the time and there'll be no real competition. It's basically like a microcosm of society in general. If the clubs who already have the most money can use their position to always have the best players, meaning they win everything and make even more money, then the gap is only going to widen over time. The only way to stop this is some form of redistribution. Using the same argument, certain clubs could say (and have) "we bring in the most money, so why should be share it with the rest of the Premier League?" But we've seen in Spain where that sort of thinking gets you. I'd personally make the CL clubs share some of that money down the pyramid too.
But if teams get investment who aren’t already at the top, which is nothing to do with communism, just like clubs over the years have had, including ours, it means the teams currently at the top are not guaranteed to stay there.

I honestly thought there already was a redistributive element at the moment, which I agree with, it was the extension of that further I was questioning really.

As Martin Samuel was saying recently, there’ll always be owners who make good decisions and those that make poor ones - whatever the division - that’s ok, that should be the way it is. And yes, occasionally, if run poorly, some clubs may end up in admin, needing to restart etc. That’s what happens.

Who'd have thought that Liverpool, those bastions of morality, are seemingly unwilling to help out those lower down the football pyramid? Not very socialist of them.

United not voting against is possibly noteworthy, just because they, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and to a lesser extent Chelsea tend to vote as a block. Maybe a bit soon to read too much into it, but it does feel generally that there is a shifting dynamic within the PL teams.
I genuinely think Scruffy Jim is holding out an olive branch to us and trying, for want of a better word, to cosy up to us.
Don't know if it sits right with me that but you're right about the dynamics shifting, utd not voting the same as the others is surprising.

Ragcliffe wants a grand VIP tour of all our CITY facilities with a pencil and pad to copy err make observations.

Thing is, he's not even the owner he's the hired help.

More like trying to cosy up to the government

That's because they don't give a monkeys fuck about our game just how much they can rip out and fuck off

Yes, it does seem to show who cares about the wider interest of the sport.

I suppose we would need to know more details about how the funding was proposed to be paid by the clubs, though, before we are too judgmental. Knowing how incompetent Masters is he probably wanted Luton to pay the same as Liverpool.
