Quite surprised Everton are not one of them. They were in the original cartel in the 80's
Times have changed for them.

Worried that they're going to be in the EFL after their next points deduction.Quite surprised Everton are not one of them. They were in the original cartel in the 80's
Sport basically has to be a little bit communist, otherwise the same teams will win all the time and there'll be no real competition. It's basically like a microcosm of society in general. If the clubs who already have the most money can use their position to always have the best players, meaning they win everything and make even more money, then the gap is only going to widen over time. The only way to stop this is some form of redistribution. Using the same argument, certain clubs could say (and have) "we bring in the most money, so why should be share it with the rest of the Premier League?" But we've seen in Spain where that sort of thinking gets you. I'd personally make the CL clubs share some of that money down the pyramid too. This isn’t really about who voted for or against today, but a more general point.
Don’t the PL already give bucketloads of cash to the lower leagues? I’ve thought for a few years now the model of 4 divisions of full time professional clubs isn’t necessarily sustainable. It might have been in the 30s or 50s when there weren’t as many competing alternatives for leisure time, but we’re not in Kansas anymore.
Why does there have to be 92 pro clubs?
If some of those clubs ended up as semi pro they could still exist if enough people wanted to watch couldn’t they?
Those who voted against:
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Spurs
West Ham
Wolves
Nottingham Forest
Aston Villa
Crystal Palace
AFC Bournemouth
Bit surprising that some who were in the EFL a short time ago being so against it. Less surprising from the greedy cartel.
But 2 or 3 of those clubs will say they're all for fair play in other areas...
They forget that English clubs were banned from Europe as a result of their antics. You'd think they would show a bit of humility and respect given their form.So all of the Northern teams voted in favour of helping out the EFL, With one exception. Absolutely shameless that club, with their pretend social values. What mental gymnastics are the dippers coming up with to justify their fucking tory greed is good policy?
They're not bothered as they'll get someone else to pay for it anyway.im surprised that united are not one of the clubs
Not anymore.Joe Lewis owns Spurs.
Levy is the chairman.
