he does not have the goalscoring ability of Gundogan, at least he never was even at villa
gundo had a patch of goal scoring only last season before that he was never a goal machine. who is to say Jack does not transform into one in the future

He is much more talented player than Gundogan. Countless pundits have said that he is England's most technically
gifted player since Gazza.

Well, if Coley and Crouchy said it while doing England punditry, then bank it! Haha!

Fwiw, Phil Foden is England’s most technically gifted player atm. Not even a contest.

However, Grealish is definitely a baller, as was Sané before him. I hope he doesn’t go the same eventual route, but I’d take a few of Sané’s goals and contributions from him along the way.

What Jack does from here us up to him. He is now a cog in a well oiled machine, not the machine that kept the Villa cogs turning.

If he can show the wherewithal and desire to become better in that system, then he can write his own future. But, it’s not working for him atm, and others (at a world class club) are doing better.

Let’s not forget, though, this current crop of players is keeping Sterling & Mahrez on the bench, too, so it’s no great shame. He just has to show his ability when he’s on the pitch and given the chance. So far, it’s all been a bit one dimensional, imho.

Really ?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahhaha
no doubt if anyone cared to watch them in other teams. Gundo was never as talented as Jack when he was at his age. now he has more experience learning form pep for a long time so he looks much better in our system. but I have to say gundo is an incredible professional and has made full use of the potential he has. if Jack has that same professionalism and learns form pep no doubt he has a higher ceiling than Gundo.

You don't honestly believe Gundogan is more talented than Grealish . Did you hear what Joe Cole said about Grealish?.
Joe who? Haha!

Gundogan has done it year in, year out, in multiple top leagues and the German National team.

Let’s not get too starry-eyed over Jack just yet. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. We have feasted on Gundo for years, as others did before us. So far, Joe’s been a King Prawn appetizer!

Again, we are betting £100M “on the come.” We have never done that before, and it has been a little disappointing to date.

That said, most players have a learning curve when it comes to Pep’s expectations, so every game gets him closer to getting there…wherever that’s going to be for him.

Looking at his list of attributes, one wonders where he fits in, and whom he displaces from the current team. Maybe he’s seen as a long term replacement for Gundo, but I wonder if Palmer & McAtee are not being cultivated for the KDB/Gundo roles for the future.

Jack can certainly be integral to our success, but his contribution needs to improve greatly from current output if we are to reap the potential we bought.

well there is a difference between talent and performance. for sure gundo has performed better, but he had better coaches, better teams and other things to help him. do you think if you put gundo in the villa team he had the talent to carry it like Jack did form the championship and the relegation fight with it talent alone? no chance villa will always take Jack over Gundo because he has better individual talent compared to Gundogan

depends on what you call contribution. if you think goals and assists sure, but overall performance the contribution has not been bad at all, for the start of his life here. so many of our signings have looked worse than Jack when starting life here
