Still waiting to be convinced that we were not bummed by Villa.
Chill out Rashford ;)Anonymous once more. Ferran Torres seemingly passed on his invisible man costume to Grealish before he left. He's a passenger and we are entering a period where we cannot have any passengers at all. Jesus, whilst not having his shooting boots on looked far sharper than Grealish in his limited time on the pitch, we had mahrez on the bench too, both should be comfortably ahead of him.
How good he may or may not be next season is of no relevance to us right now. There's trophies on the line now, multiple trophies infact and he isn't currently anywhere close to being at the level required to help us win them. Needs to find himself on the bench for at least the next 4 games if we are to come through them in a good situation.
If you're in the front 3, you have to be doing your fair share of numbers as the bare minimum. every other player is doing so and in some cases much more. Grealish is the huge outlier and he's providing nothing for the side that others couldn't do whilst also chipping in with goals and assists. Saying he isn't a goalscorer means nothing, sterling's worst attribute is his finishing, yet he's been banging in 20-30 goals a season from the same position. Mahrez has always been a providing winger rather than a goalscoring one, he's banging in 20+ this season, gundogan isn't a goalscoring midfield yet put in lampard numbers last season. our team doesn't have natural goalscorers but everybody scores goals in this side if they're doing what's asked of them in their role.
I don't know why so many keep banging on about him playing in midfield, he's never played there in his career for any length of time, his skillset is almost the exact opposite of what Pep wants in there, the 8s need to have a quick mind and move the ball quickly with minimal touches until we get towards the final third, even when players carry it like Bernardo, they carry it quickly and release it quickly, Grealish doesn't, he draws people in inviting challenges, not only does that pose the risk of losing it but it surrenders the positional advantage we've just worked the last dozen passes for. He takes too many touches and dribbles too much to do that role, he would lose the ball too much in dangerous areas as witnessed when he lost the ball and gave Burnley their best chance of the game. That's the exact reason why he isn't playing in this current version of our midfield. Not to mention his work rate is some way off being acceptable to play there. Even ignoring all of that, we've got 3 players who are all significantly better options already and foden is surely a better bet as the next in line after those. The only way Grealish fits anywhere that isn't left midfield is if we play with a solo 10 behind a striker, that would mean a drastic change of formation which seems very unlikely and they'd be kdb, gundo, Bernardo, foden and possibly a few others all looking to play there too if we did.
I'm going to very clearly stress that this part isnt his fault, I'm not attributing blame to him in any way for this but the reality is, with him in the team, Fodens not in his most effective position so not only is Grealish not pulling his weight, we don't get the best Foden either. Only one is down to him but right now, we are a worse team on two fronts with Grealish in the side.
what the fuck is this? a failed attempt at writing comprehension? besides having all the points factually wrong and having a poor understanding of football tactics.Anonymous once more. I don’t think he’s a big fan of Jackwhat the fuck is this? a failed attempt at writing comprehension? besides having all the points factually wrong and having a poor understanding of football tactics.
Rarely has a username been more aptWe've all seen them haven't we, lads who can do any trick imaginable with a football, some of which even the professional players can't accomplish. I think they are called 'Football Freestylers' and I have often pondered why none of them play professional football? Until now that is, you see I always believed it was because they are effectively 'football brain dead' so to speak. Well as I continue to watch Grealish I am becoming more convinced than ever that my 'football brain dead' analogy is correct and that City have somehow signed a football freestyler, who must have been offered professional terms by Villa due to nothing more than his ability with the ball! It certainly couldn't have been for his ability to play football or be part of a team, simply because he doesn't appear to have one modicum of football knowhow. Watching him in our team is like watching a previously well oiled machine suddenly start crunching and squealing because someone has decided to add a random cog that does nothing. It's almost painful to see him have the ball at his feet, as we lose all momentum in our play, he plays with his head down and his football perception is so poor he continues to run into other players space. Today he attempted the most ridiculous turn in our own last third and was dispossessed before remaining sat on his arse watching the danger that his stupidity had created unfold. Pound for pound, he must be the biggest flop I have ever seen in a City shirt and that includes Jo and Steve Daley.

Don't just discount what I've said because you don't like the content. I didn't enjoy reading it back myself, but sadly it is 100% true. In short Grealish is the biggest misfit I've seen City ever buy. He came with promise and has delivered LESS than nothing in that his very presence has been detrimental to the team output.Something tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about. That something is this drivel I’ve just read.

I am interested to hear your considered views on him however, so feel free to tell me your honest opinion of him. Tell me what he's good at, what he brings to the team that we never before his arrival and rate his value for money? Finally tell me do you think City would go anywhere near him if he came up for sale now?
If we are in the CL final, I would actually pick him but I'll play him in a deeper role. He works hard in the middle and he made some defensive contributions in the game at Anfield and also against the rags. It's just that for me what he brings to the team.... well let's just say any player from Brighton, Southampton, Leicester or Watford can also bring to the team and would probably cost 80m less. Not that I agree with everything you’ve said, but I’d be surprised if many City fans pick him in the best xi. If we are in the CL final, I’m not sure many would pick him.
OK I will take a stab at this, but I am going to keep this short as I don't want to go into a detail explanation for which I need pictures and video to explain.Don't just discount what I've said because you don't like the content. You've been banging on about him being played out of position since day 1. If he was a CM he would be playing there.OK I will take a stab at this, but I am going to keep this short as I don't want to go into a detail explanation for which I need pictures and video to explain.
let us first discuss why Jack was bought, it was made clear from our tier 1 that our board wanted someone to fill the role of bernardo when he was threatening to leave and that txiki was in love with Jack because of his ability to keep and move with the ball. and in the first press conference when pep was asked what he liked most about Jack? what he said was that he liked his ability to slow down play and bring others into play.
next let us discuss what Jack was doing at villa he would usually take the position of a wide player when he is in the middle of the pitch away from the box and then the more he moves with the ball and carries the ball he will move to the center of the pitch when he is near the box and then lay of the ball or make a through pass on the run. In contrast when he plays for us he is put in a complete opposite position when he is staying high and wide like a traditional winger which was never his game so makes no sense.
what are his strengths? It was universally acknowledged his best attributes was carrying the ball into the box, making space for others and bringing them into the game and also being press resistant when the opponents tries to get the ball from him. ask yourself where this characteristics are used? it surely is in the center of the midfield.
what are his weakness? beating a man for pace or trickery and putting in accurate crosses for 5'7 players or having a leather striker instincts are not his game. for a forward player these skills are essentially and why the fuck is Jack playing there?
take last night as an example why the fuck not put Jack in LCM and move gundo to false 9 and foden to LW this will make better use of each other's skills. as someone else said the only reason I can think of is that pep does not trust his positioning and defensive movement and hence he is shoehorning him into the LW until he can learn. In short people need to stop asking him to play like sterling or mahrez when he is nothing like them and pep needs to stop putting him the forward line and making our attack weak. either put him in his correct position or leave him on the bench.
Or do what he did with Bernardo, and is doing with Grealish, play him wide until he’s ready to play in midfield. Because he won’t be ready if he doesn’t play. If he made our attack weak you may have a point, however I and more to the point Pep obviously doesn’t think he makes us weaker, otherwise he wouldn’t be playing him in the crunch part of the season.OK I will take a stab at this, but I am going to keep this short as I don't want to go into a detail explanation for which I need pictures and video to explain.

Not ffs first season , much more recent than that and it is now a term of ironic endearment as he is brilliantI agree that I want more from Grealish but that's a rewriting of history.
Mahrez is called FFS on here because of his first season.
I forgot about Gundogan having an injury so yeah it was unfair to include him.
Bernardo spent most of his first year on the bench.
I think Grealish will improve next season, especially as he'll have a striker to aim for.
If you had ? you mean if we had shirley , hmmmIf you had a proper nine like Harry Kane . Liverpool wouldn't be breathing down your necks.

I pointed it out yesterday but he seems to have gotten away with it, no backlash forthcoming.lol.
fancy flagging yourself up, should be fun.
