He can be frustrating to watch at times, as per the first half yesterday but then I thought he was really good second half. He gets kicked all over the place but keeps going. Overall I thought he had a good game yesterday and he was key to two of our goals.
He gets kicked for a reason, he holds on to the ball for a long time, sometimes that can be an advantage in not losing the ball but it can also be the opposite.

First half he was appalling and wasteful but he showed great character in the second half but this total inconsistency has to end if he is going to be a big player for us.

City fans always seem to want a scapegoat; it's one of our less desirable traits. I remember when Joe Corrigan first got into the City team in the early seventies. He didn't have a great time in the beginning, and the fans let him know that. That's when we brought in Keith MacRae. But he was also unimpressive, Joe got a second chance and never looked back. Fast forward to the 90s and Richard Edghill, who was treated shamefully by a section of our"fans". Now, in recent years (at least online), Sterling, Mahrez and now Grealish have copped the flak. It's a pity, but there you go.
There is no comparison with the players you mentioned and Grealish particularly Big Joe and Edgehill. The abuse those two received from a vast majority of the supporter base was shameful and embarrassing.

Grealish, are a lot of fans disappointed with him? Without question but he has not set the world alight has he? But the home support does not give him abuse and never has.

Grealish is not a bad signing but a player for me that's underperforming with the skill set he has.

He is a far better player than we have witnessed.

I tend to measure players when they perform or "clutch" when it matters. When it REALLY matters.

I'm talking a 1-1 away, needing 1 goal to qualify in a CL semi-final. Players like Kev, or Mahrez, which despite the criticism have done this for us, players like Di Maria ( UCL 2014, WC22 ) CR37, Messi, even our young Alvarez seems to have this ability, Robben, Muller, Suarez etc.

It's the shit inside the players that elevates them from good/very good to legendary, whilst on the pitch. Unfortunately, I feel some of our fan-base is still stuck in the monetary pointing vicious circle, where as we have paid x amount of money, therefore the end product unequivocally must be x as well. Alas, the world of football financials is beyond broken and I'm going to go to Julian Alvarez again, as it has been proven quite clearly with this insane transfer. A lad that had he been born in the UK, he wouldn't have been transferred without 4 encyclopaedias about his mum and how's she's a Liverpool fan, 7 months of drama with United offering blow-jobs to his relatives, 75 Wankbridge videos, and 150 million price tag to start the conversation.

( By the way, Sterling was one of those players that did not have the ability mentioned above. We have seen it time and time again. )

Jack is like Sterling in that regard. I believe he was brought out of multiple reasons. We needed a work-horse that can carry the ball, we needed a player that can play in multiple positions, and we needed a player that will do as he is told, irrelevant of what the fan-base and pundits want him to do. There is a parallel universe where Mendy didn't pull that ball off the line, and his goal would have taken us to the UCL Final. But as I have said, Jack isn't that player. Stop expecting him to be Pirlo.

For the PL, for these games, for the system to click he's the right man. We bought Erling for Goals, we have Phil for the future, we have Alvarez as our Muller. Stop looking for that in Jack. He's not that, and he'll never be that.

I like what he brings, and I'll root for him, because he's our lad. At least he's not Bony.

It’s a 9/10 performance if he scores just one of the sitters. Good for him for not hiding in the 2nd half.

Awful first half,as bad as i've seen him.....but he decided that wasn't going to affect him or define him,and he produced tremendous character and quality in the second.

Having not been anywhere near this or the match thread prior to this contribution,i can only imagine the rubbing of hands and the vitriol that was aimed at him by those that want him to fail - You must be gutted.
Says the rabid raz hater and frequent negative poster in his threads

Just saying

First half he was pants , second half i was saying he wont pass it to thor but he did so all is well, he does however have to do that second half every game , he still does little to affect most games
