I have no bias. I actually really like the lad. I’d love him to be what he probably could be.
His piece of play for the second goal was excellent. Top draw. His second assist was as standard as you get. He even put it on Haaland’s weaker foot..

He was ok second half. Poor, very poor first.
Fair enough, I guess I am so used to people who don't like Jack for very little reason - maybe they just needed to replace Raz. I don't know.

Regardless, I simply disagree that his second half was just "ok".
Was Haaland's 2 goal second half "just okay"? Neither of his goals were any less standard than Grealish's second assist.
If they both did that for an entire season they'd have 76 league goals and 76 league assists respectively.

Those 2 (along with KDB) won us the game in that second half for me so I think they had very good second halves.

I'll agree he had a stinker in the first 45, but credit to him for not allowing it to affect his performance second half. He does need to improve by reducing the amount of minutes he performs like he did first half, but if he were to play. like he did second half for the rest of the season I'd be very happy and we'd win a lot of matches.

I thought at the time that the KDB bursting into space down the left for our goal was a shite comparison to make.

We were on the counter attack and KDB had acres of space to run into. Completely different to Grealish receiving it out wide with two Leeds players closing him down.

If you look at Mahrez and Foden, most of their passes go backwards as well. It’s almost as if Pep values control over needless risk taking.

The big criticism I have of Grealish is that he’s too slow when he finds himself inside the opposition box. Once he plays with a bit more conviction then the goals will come.

Jesus, are you saying Grealish never receives the ball on the counter? He and Mahrez do frequently. They just don’t attack the space, as they’re not direct. What separates a Grealish or Mahrez from a Foden or De Bruyne is knowing when to do what and having the ability and confidence to do so.

I do agree to an extent, Pep does love control of the game, but he also loves to be explosive as that’s where you get your best players in the best space.

I think we’re entitled to want far more from Grealish.. The only thing stopping him for me is his brain.. Get that right, speed everything up, and we’d have a great player..

Mahrez won a PL player of the year and African Footballer of the Year featuring in a relative weak team. He knew when to do and had the ability/confidence to do everything at his prime. He did not shrink facing powerful opposition when he played on a weaker team. He is over 30 now and has earned his credit.

Did Foden attack the space at Anfield this season? Or what did he do facing France?

Show some respect to Mahrez.

I missed the second half because of my stupid fucking job, but was chuffed to see he got a couple of assists. The posts in the matchday thread first half in particular were an embarrassment. Some bellends in here need to have a good look at themselves in the mirror.
Haha! There was fucking no chance I was spoiling my evening by even peeking at that cesspit of a thread.

There’s zero evidence of this. The idea that Pep doesn’t want Grealish to attack and create things is just daft.. He may like Grealish’s control. But he’ll almost certainly want him to impact the game where he can.
Pep talks about this all the time.

I'm not saying he doesn't want him to attack, but he had said multiple times that attacking aggressively isn't the answer.

Here's his interview after the Newcastle match, where he was really unhappy about the lack of control:

“When we break the lines we can run, and if you finish the action it’s not a problem, but if you don’t finish you don’t control Saint-Maximin and Almiron,”

“We should spend more time in the final third, give more passes in that moment,”

“But it’s difficult, because Erling is going, Phil has this aggression to go; if Jack plays there or Riyad (Mahrez) or Bernardo (Silva) play on the right, they are more calm and they help us to be all together, and when we lose the ball we are there and they cannot run."

Note that Jack is the very first name he mentions as a specific solution to the problem.

Pitiful in the first half, second half was better could see KDB in particular was trying to help him out. Needs to adapt and I hope he does you could sense with his missed chances it’s almost like he didn’t expect to be there or that he wouldn’t be found, but playing in this side he will be on both counts and he needs to be more switched on

For me he works best with Foden in and around him as we saw against United especially, so I hope to see more of that and a run of games for him.

Some of the shit I’ve read from so called blues today on the various sites I follow. Utter fucking shambles. Add to that the snide comments from other fans.

Keep up the good fucking work lad. You’re a joy to watch.
They're a bunch of sheep, parroting whatever the pundits say. Literally doing what or opposition fans do.
