He still has the same problem he had when he walked through the door and that is an almost total lack of end product.

He still has his uses and he's still going to get opportunities in the team but he simply doesn't make as much of a difference as the others do.

There'll be a time when that changes and he makes important contributions again but, long term, he's going to have to sink or swim.

I personally never care about transfer price, but I do care about salary. Jack is the 3rd highest, and he clearly is not our 3rd most importan/best player, so I think he hasn't got to the level he should. Important for the treble (although some here talk like he was the key when that isn't even close to reality).

Nothing against him, but if he is not a City player tomorrow, I wouldn't be worried because I think there are wingers who can give us more.

And for the Doku vs Grealish people, neither will be a starter (althought Doku will play more minutes I think).
Problem is no one would be willing to sign him for even half of the amount we paid for him.

Personally I think he can be a great CM playing beside Rodri. If Bernie leaves then we need to shift Jack from the wing and I think Pep might actually be considering that. Savio might not necessarily be the end of Jack's career here.

Jack moves into the CM role and performs brilliantly there then we would have to decide who leaves between Kova or Nunes. While both have been decent signings, I don't see why Jack can't do what they've done so far.

I would admit I've made some negative posts about Jack but if we are being honest here he is being played out of his natural position and honestly he has done a decent job there.

I would really hate it if Pep throws him under the bus for failing to adapt to a position that isn't his (jack) preferred position. Just play him in his natural position, you know, the one where he caught your attention? Yes that role, please play him there for once.

I like him.
He will be an eternal legend at this club for this picture alone

Are you talking about as an attacking mid? It would be interesting to see him play there with someone sat deeper alongside Rodri but I don't fancy him staking a claim there ahead of the likes of Phil, Kev or even Alvarez.

I like him out wide, to be honest, but his finishing is poor and his final pass is unremarkable. The problem he's got is that he's up against some incredible players.

Everyone (literally) has been given a chance in the middle even Sergio Gomez, Pep has seen or hasn't seen something to play Grealish there. Imo he did well as a false 9 against Watford two seasons ago, although his finishing was poor.

For me in big games Grealish is first choice, simply because he provides stability and robustness to the team, we can rely on KdB, Haaland, Foden and Bernardo for goals.

Players like Park Ji Sung, Valencia, Kuyt, Camoranesi, Stankovic and Malouda all played on the wings but were defensive minded and integral In their teams winning trophies.

i don't pretend to know what's going on with him, but it seems in the past if you cross pep your'e toast

So very wrong on all counts.

We paid 100m, fact, he is on a huge contract , fact.

Last year he was very, very good, this season has had far too many fits and starts, illness, injury, whatever.

But the fact remains in 3 seasons, he has had one very good season and two average.

Hopefully he will get himself back into the team for the run in and show his worth, if not, with the arrival of Savio, the club and player will have a decision to make for the future.

Maybe we are also witnessing Pep's man management skills in action. One issue Grealish has for me is far too many times he is to laid back, a nasty, fired up Grealish is a superb player and huge asset to the team we witnessed that during the last derby, maybe Pep is looking for a reaction by leaving him on the bench in recent weeks.
I still think Grealish plays in the big matches where Pep does not want to concede possession.Against low block he keeps the opposition guessing using Doku & now Bobb’s trickery to unlock them
I’m not buying Grealish is out of the picture as far as Pep is concerned

That’s a good point about those kind of defensive wide men. Although, with the possible exception of Park and that was more to fit Ronaldo in none of those teams were anywhere near our level.
