I was touched to hear him talking about Pep helping him with some off the pitch troubles. I think Pep's man-management has come on leaps and bounds over the years, and Jack is a player who needs to be managed well because of his emotional sensitivity that means he so clearly takes set-backs to heart and carries criticism with him far more than is helpful.
Hopefully the off the pitch issues are resolved now and he has a good, healthy summer, whether he goes to the Euros or not, and comes back with renewed fire in his belly for next season.
I also note he seemed to be the person who initiated the idea for all the new guys to get their moment with the trophy first on Sunday. That's the other side of that sensitivity, and is one of many reasons he seems to be so loved in the squad.

I hope he plays a key role on Saturday and I also hope he's in the England squad today. I think he needs it.
Someone needs to give him a slap and tell him to stop being so harsh on himself. The pressure he puts himself under hinders him. To talk openly about the fact he didn't feel he played a part this season and that he congratulated Pep for winning 4 and he's only won 3 is something he needs to clear from his brain. Whether you've won 1 or 4 you've played your part. Whether you've scored a match winner or barely played at all, you've been in the squad, trained with them, supported them and have had your role.
He's very good at giving credit to others, and needs to give himself some too and then I feel the shackles will come off and he'll deliver more.

Newcastle for me would be the perfect club for him, the Geordies would love him.

Definitely. I don't think he will be cut now, lots of young players in and whilst some will be retained I think many have been picked to give them a taste of a pre-tournament camp and there would be no point calling Jack up to them cut him.
