I love Grealish, think he was one of the most important cogs to the treble winning side but he comes with a pretty evident flaw; a lack of goals.

Doku’s goal today is something we’ve seen Grealish try loads of times and hitting the defender in the process.

Both excel in different areas which is brilliant for us in the sense of having a plan A and plan B. Interested to see what Pep will do, though, because Doku has staked a claim already while we know JG is a favourite of his (and deserves to be starting after his form last season).

Overall, though, it’s great to have healthy competition in the squad. That LW position is something that’s been pretty bare in recent years.

For people that have been convincing themselves that Pep doesn’t want his wingers to go at their man and say he tells Grealish to always pass back, look what he said.

Grealish just isn’t that good 1v1 so let’s not blame Pep next time when Grealish can’t beat his man

The same Pep that’s been happy to play him and rely on him? Who has praised him to the hilt, especially his defensive work?

Happy for Doku he’s started so well but let’s not use it as an opportunity to undermine a key player who’s injured. I’ve already seen some disgusting takes on Twitter today from City ‘fans’ who should know better.

There’s space for both. Grealish may well play in our bigger games as Pep demands as much control as possible. Grealish can also come on in games where we want more control if the game is tight.

Doku can unlock low blocks with his quick feet. He can also come on in bigger games if we need more of a goal threat.

Hoping for Doku and Bobb on our wings for Red Star, but I doubt I’ll get my wish.

disgusting is an understatement. there are many truly vile people identifying themselves as city fans. i saw some ugly posts about haaland and gvardiol too. apparently city should return gvardiol to “that auschwitz camp of a club” immediately. classy af.

Jack will still play loads. There are fixtures where his particular strengths will be important, other times Doku's directness will be needed.

I think it’s time Jack learn to be more like Bernie now, gonna be tough.

He should learn more positions because currently has 1 spot he can play, actually everyone on the team can play more than 1 spot except Jack, barring the obvious omissions like keepers and Haaland.

If he can learn to play the interior midfield role, next to Doku, we get more options when Jack comes back. It is tough to learn to play in midfield but he has played there before.

I am not saying anything bad about Grealish, people have just been saying Pep is not allowing him to go at his man which from Pep’s mouth is the opposite of what he wants from his winger.

Grealish would still be at this club for at least 3 more years so it is pointless for people to turn on Grealish. My main point was that people should stop blaming Pep for Grealish being unable to beat his man or his shot getting blocked.

They are not City fans, they are wums.

Really hated seeing Grealish is getting slagged off in twitter when he even didn't get in bench because injury FFS. The twittards from some our so called fans now began to invent out of their fucking ass that Pep actually hates Grealish for a long time and now because Doku has arrived, Pep will finally bench Grealish for good.

This tweets is one of such examples.

Can't this so called fans praise Doku without needing to slagging off Grealish? Their hate is unreal.
