As somebody just mentioned he seems to play within himself quite a bit sometimes.

There are so many times he could put the ball into the box or go down the line and put it in but he's like he's second guesses himself and I don't know why because he's actually really good when he just does it. as we saw the other week when he went down the line and put it right onto Haaland's head for a goal.

I fully understand keeping possession and cutting back and passing is actually often the correct choice, but there are times when he could be more assertive too.

he's more than capable, he is an excellent footballer.

Agree and, personally think that is why he was hooked as he was ineffective for most of the time.

It is a conundrum as we know he is capable of being more direct and dynamic, but were not seeing it this season thus far.

No we ain't but try saying that on here, then the smart arses appear defending the situation, must watch the game differently to me

Yes you've got it spot on, that's what people want until they realise that it doesn't work long-term.

Laughable that people think the top wingers attempt to go past the full back all the time, the conversion rate of doing so isn't as high as some think.

Doku will be moulded into a player who makes the right decision more often than not, and no doubt there will be fans complaining he's stopped 'beating his man'.

So let me get this right with you then, you are happy to see performances like last night, and quite frankly all season instead of the attacking flair he showed all last season ?

Just for reference in my mind that's all

No that's not what I want, but equally, I don't want him to start doing things that aren't in his skillset, and also aren't what he was doing for all of last season.

Was I happy with last night, no, do I want him to reinvent himself, no.

We're 7 games into a season, that he's been injured for 2 of. Of the 2 games he started before injury, he played 90 minutes and we won both. On his 2 starts since injury, we got beat at Newcastle and we won last night.

His performance needs to improve, as do quite a few others. But you need to get comfortable with the fact that Pep sees him as fundamental to his winning formula.

1976? Pfft. You JCLs need to realise we perfected the art of abuse long before you started your brief infatuation with the club. We turned the likes of Ian Bowyer from a shortsighted ginger twat into a real man. And transformed Joe Corrigan from a fumbling idiot into a proper goalkeeper.

Selfish? It was character building and good for the soul. It saved many a domestic black eye or kicked animal - at least on a Saturday.

Not sure why some overpaid big girl’s blouse of a modern footballer should escape our attention.
And some have helped destroy very promising careers.

The abuse this guy got brought shame to our club, it was a fucking disgrace

Currently Jack does not change direction, does not accelerate, does not change his pace, does not even "attempt" to dribble... We all know he does not have great pace but all these thing he used to be good at... are suddenly gone. Even rewatching the highlight vs Sheffield Utd, the difference is so obvious.

Maybe it is a confidence issue or maybe it is an injury. But quite clear he avoids using his knees at all. Teams seem to find it out like the whole bluemoon forum. So for the next chapter...either Pep benches him or puts him into midfield since we are short of legs in the middle(his pass is still great). If Pep continued to play him on the wing when he clearly could not use his knee and Doku is available, I would guess that Pep really likes back passing...

(PS: I support the idea of moving Jack to the middle)

I'm comfortable with it, Pep might not be though further down the line though if things don't improve.
