10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

What, you want to be left to whine and moan about a player in peace. Sorry if I think people are chatting shite I'll be here to tell them. Obviously Pep knows better, to think otherwise shows the lack of self awareness I alluded to.

So, “Pep knows best so the rest of you can fcuk off with your shite views”.

And that’s self awareness?

Right.

The issue for me is that Grealish so clearly has abundant talent and a great opportunity but he consistently fails to perform at a level many think he's capable of .In some ways he reminds me a bit of McManaman when he was here .

Christ was a fucking comparison !

There's only the little difference of 3 Premier Leagues, 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup with McMinimum.

Wow, the absolute state of this thread.

A scapegoat has truly been identified who this season didn't play in the CL defeat, didn't play in the PL defeats vs Bournemouth or Brighton, only came on at 3-0 down in the PL defeat vs Spurs and didn't play in the League Cup defeat.

Grealish did play 20 league games (and 36 games in total) in the historic league campaign to seal 4 in a row, 28 league games, 13 CL and 5 FA cup games in the treble campaign and 26 PL games in his 1st season when the PL title was won and yet people are claiming he's only played well for 3 months in total!!!

It's a team game and it looks to me like Jack's ability to retain possession high up the pitch has a significant bearing on whether City wins or loses.
Look at who’s been posting on this thread since Tuesday’s draw.

Tells you all you need to know. Same old sad haters who can’t get their heads around why Pep keeps playing him.

I never said you can't post what you like, I never asked you to fuck off from the thread. Yet yourself not liking anyone disagreeing,or putting a counter argument wanted me to leave the thread. So there's that to ponder.Right?

Give him a free roll and he will be a £100 million pound player but pigs will fly stay on the left and hold the ball up Jackie boy wasted talent

fit or not he has never been good enough for City, he runs sideways rather than forward, takes too much time on the ball, and slows the game down . He was never a 100 million player. Due to our bad signings on the wings and midfield, we are too reliant on 2-3 (Haaland, KDB, Foden)individuals to score goals. Rest of our team lacks natural goal scorers

People are completely fixated on the £100m fee. I think (and evidence seems to support this) that the fee brings its own pressure. Jack is the only one of the top 10 most expensive signings of all time to win the CL at his new club

I'd argue that after Mbappe, Grealish has been the 2nd most successful of the top 10 most expensive signings of all time.

And clearly Jack has 3 more PL titles than Declan Rice, Fernandez and Caicedo.

1 Neymar Barcelona - PSG 2017 €222m
2 Kylian Mbappe Monaco - PSG 2017 €145m (+€35m)
3 Joao Felix Benfica - Atletico Madrid 2019 €126m
4 Enzo Fernandez Benfica - Chelsea 2023 €121m
=5 Philippe Coutinho Liverpool - Barcelona 2018 €120m (+€40m)
=5 Antoine Griezmann Atletico Madrid - Barcelona 2019 €120m
=7 Moises Caicedo Brighton - Chelsea 2023 €117m (+€17.5m)
=7 Declan Rice West Ham - Arsenal 2023 €117m (+€6m)
=7 Jack Grealish Aston Villa - Manchester City 2021 €117m
10 Romelu Lukaku Inter - Chelsea 2021 €115m

There are question marks that he hasn't really shown enough at City to justify the fee but at the same he has brought extra revenue off the field so you could say he has paid part of his fee back. And besides that he has a geniune rapport with the supporters, especially with the disabled.
