10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

"generational talent"

Come on he is a great talent but there are many far better.
I think you've got to take the hyperbole of the wording with a pinch of salt - Given is a former teammate of his and presumably a friend, it's easy to get carried away when defending a mate. Especially considering that when they were both in the Villa first team, Given was in his 30s and Jack was a teenager.

He played in the Championship between the ages of 21-24. ‘Generational talent’s (I hate that term, like ‘World Class’, it means nothing) are playing at and contributing at the most elite level at that age.

I like Grealish. He’s decent, but he can’t stay fit. I don’t think he’s been available for more than seven games in a row since the treble season.

I think I am right in saying he had problems at Villa, he was out for some time with shin splints.

His control of the ball and tempo allowed Kev and Bernie to look so good. Pep will be very pleased with him tonight. I do not want to see Lewis tried in that position again!
