All points towards a mental thing. Could be Jacks partner is suffering post partum or something along those lines and Pep always puts family first.

Does seem strange that he's committed himself to the England camp though, I expect he's cleared himself anyway if he's included in the squad

If that's the issue and I certainly don't think he is injured why can he play for his country yet not his club that pays his wages?

The call-up's a good thing if he gets some match fitness, a bad thing if he exacerbates an injury.

I like to think that both club and player would stop him from going if he's not on track to be fit enough to feature at least a little.

Whether his problem has been physical, mental or personal I think we can assume that if he turns up for England duty he's now in a position where he's ready to be playing again.

Although he might unfortunately and unwisely try to play through an injury to represent his country, I don't see him leaving his partner and baby at home if anything serious was going on with them, to play in a glorified friendly. So hopefully whatever has been happening is now better enough that he's able to return to work.

I don't think we can assume this is a case of Jack being problematic (although I'd never deny he has been in the past, especially in his youth).

It might simply be that he's had a niggly injury that he's just about recovered from now and the club and country's medical staff are in agreement that he should be fit enough to feature in the international break.

The only reason anyone's speculated it's anything else is that Pep hasn't given any details of an injury. But maybe he's just respecting his privacy with regards to his medical record.

Nothing to suggest it's anything to do with mental health. People far too quick to assume this is the issue nowadays. If ever we needed him to step up and start to drive the team on it's now. Doubtful if he's ever going to but we can but hope.

I see some people never learn that you never put your own assumption as fact and expect others to believe it.

I believe the simple explanation is Grealish callup is being seen as way for him to get fitness back by training and hopely get some playing minutes in national team.

Not the baseless speculation that have been getting traction on X of all places.
