10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

I did, and it was basically just another attribute assassination, but rebadged this time to show why he can't play centrally.

You've basically hammered him for his current role in the side, and simultaneously explained your reasoning why he he can't play centrally.

And as I said before, it's a shame Pep can't see the same flaws in his game, as we'd clearly be much better off...
I think Pep does, and he is managing Jack perfectly well.

Talk about bending the truth. Palace under Glasner were anything but defensive, they went right at us, pressed us high, repeatedly won the ball back or forced errors in our own half, should have scored a hat full and had the game won by halftime but for poor finishing and a few decent saves. Wasn't just against us either, they were one of the most attacking teams in the league once Glasner got his team setup how he wanted, was always loads of goals in any game involving palace under him. Complete fabrication to suggest you won't find a team that sit deeper than palace. People will seemingly just make up anything to suit them.

Gvardiol was subbed off at halftime in that Palace game, one of his worst performances for city, akanji played left back second half and was excellent.
gvardiol was injured in the second minute of that game.

Hmmm? Only 2 players plus Ederson out of 22 had an average position that wasn’t in the Palace half.

Okay? Imagine that is the case for the majority of games involving city because out entire game is about pushing the opposition back.

Did they not have numerous sitters that they missed on top of scoring 2? Did they not press us and force turnovers in our own third?

Nobody who watched that game can ever say Palace were defensive, they went at us to the point where it caught us off guard, and if it wasn't for some truly dreadful finishing, we would have got spanked, we genuinely puld have conceded 4/5/6 goals in the first half alone, most teams don't have that many chances in the entire game against us. pep even praised Glasners attacking approach after the game and they've had plenty of outside praise for that since he's gone there.

Perhaps encouragingly for futute endeavours, the left-back in all the games you listed was Gvardiol. Maybe there's an understanding developing there.
Yeah but against Palace Grealish was only above-avg when he paired with Gvardiol in the first half. He really came to shine in the 2nd half when Akanji was moved there as left back. Coincidentally Akanji was also the makeshift left back in our 4-0 home win vs Real - when a lot think it was Grealish best game at City. Grealish also did quite well against Copenhagen and that was Ake behind him. So I will keep an open mind here... Let's see what it will be this season. :)

Just seen his goal from last night. He needs to trust his left foot more - it's better than he thinks it is, and can catch people out.

And we did push them back - 75% possession. Palace spent most of the game on defence regardless of their intent.
