Two years left on his contract next summer and his book value will be 40 mill. He is on top wages and he will be 30 next September. I can't imagine the club will be considering a contract extension based on his recent contribution but I think he could be difficult to move on. Assuming we don't want to see him run his contract down and move in summer 2027 for free then it's hard to see a club that he would consider moving to who would pay say his book value and take his wages on.

There 'may' be Saudi interest but I'd be surprised if he moved there and after that I don't see a host of eager buyers. Could be very tricky.
Chelsea will take him.

Let’s keep the kid then.

So Pep wants all these things according to some he doesn’t do that picks him regularly. Hardly likely. Put it this way if we had a fully fit squad and were playing a C/L final I’d expect Jack to be picked before Doku.
If you want my opinion why then I’d say he give us more control, and leaves us less open to dangerous counters, creates space for those around him.Is that why Pep likes him and picks him, maybe I’d say probably but whether it’s that or something else he has good reason.
Grealish isn't as nailed on a starter for big games as he once was. I agree that he'd most probably start him over Doku in another CL final but I think it's mainly because Pep knows Doku is a good impact player to bring on who can make things happen, just like he did in the FA Cup final. I agree that Jack gives us more control, I also agree we're less open to dangerous counter attacks and he creates for players around him. I also think Jack should be more creative for himself by beating his man, by crossing the ball and by being more direct on goal.

Doku makes mistakes and can not hold onto the ball as well as Jack but he's not as experienced. But he's less predictable, tries to make things happen and more exciting to watch, and watching exciting football is a big reason why I pay my money and go through the turnstile.

Time for this thread to take a breather. The dozen loud people have won here.

Leave it to the match going fans to support Jack.
It's not a case of winning. Most on here want Grealish to do well, I know I do. Pointing out any criticism or praise is neither winning or losing anything. And this thread like all the other player performance threads is there to discuss players on whether they're doing well or not.

Given that he has hardly played in forever, it seems a disproportionate discussion.

Anyway, will leave you to it. It doesn’t get anyone anywhere.

Like I said, these player threads are here to discuss our opinions on players which I will when I feel the need to.

So we need both and they both bring different qualities, and if neither get played centrally then it’s because thats whats decided, which is all I’ve ever thought, all this talk that one is needed more than the other is silly. I doubt Pep or anyone at City are considering letting either go. When I go to games I never think about who is playing , just go to, watch the team.

I'd be surprised if Grealish were still here after the summer window.

He'll be close to 30 then. He's on astronomical wages and doesn't offer enough to justify that. His injury problems may get worse after he turns 30. We can still get about 40-50m for him in the summer, which, imo, we are likely to do. Then we can invest the money in a new winger.

Now, if Grealish hits his best form and stays fit, then we may decide to keep him (but then he will have more potential buyers...).

Forget about CL final.

I doubt we can make to semi-final given the current form.

We are in real danger of getting the extra two legs in February clashing with busy schedule.

I don't talk shit about ourplayers and won't..

but I have a gut feeling..

So long.. farewell.. auf weidersehen.. good night Jack Grealish!

50M and someone taking on his contract I think he will be gone.

Even more so if Bobb gets back up to speed and Silvio keeps progressing.

We also need more goals from midfield and the wide areas, we have far too much reliance on Haaland.

I think this Bobb thing got out of hands and what we expect from him.
He literally had one outstanding moment in his City career and his name has been thrown around now as some kind of a season savior.

I think you are right although I suspect that the club value his potential and were anticipating using him more in the team structure during this season, thus giving us another useful squad member.

If you are talking forum opinion, then as with most topics there are always extreme opinions, whereas the facts indicate something more in the middle.

But it is BM so who knows :)
