Maybe it is a coincidence. Pep sent Grealish to warm up last game when Foden got a kick in the knee in the first half vs Liverpool. So it might be the plan to use him in the middle of the park regardless Kev coming on or not.

That is being said I hope Grealish can take a bit more risk while in the middle. He can learn a lot from Kev. Shoot and pick up more dangerous passes like Kev. Especially when he rotates to the right he should prepare to slide a through ball or cross more often rather than passing down to Bernado. We saw he had a cross when he played for England so hopefully he can get it here as well.

Just confused why it's taken so long to play him more centrally with the injury/loss of form situation.

A player who wants and needs the ball and a better player when he has.
