When things are going well he can contribute but when things are going bad as they are for us this season he fails to inspire and deliver , not a player for the trenches when needing to dig deep.

I don’t blame them either. My point was palmer (who was never great for city) still scored big goals against arsenal in community shield, Sevilla in super cup, scored a great goal in fa cup at Swindon. So he impacted games and he carried a goal threat. Grealish rarely does

I couldn't agree more, I feel like we did not realise how good we had it when Sterling was bagging an average of 22 a season. Missed some chances? Sure, but I still think he was exceptionally good for about half a decade for us. He'll always remain one of my favourite ever City players.

I have always suspected that part of Raheem's reason for leaving was that Jack became kind of an automatic pick on the wing even though he was (and even his staunchest defenders will admit this) absolutely terrible in his first year. If I was a winger with a proven track record, sitting on the bench watching the £100m man start his 10th game in a row despite not scoring in any of them, I would also be asking to get sold ASAP.

I don't disagree on that point at all; I have massive issues with Jack as a person and as a player and he should be doing far more for us.

Don’t mean it to be a know it all but it’s hard to forget just how productive our wingers where.

Two more examples:

Sterling played 339 games scored 131 times and assisted 73.

Mahrez played 236 and scored 78 assisted 56 times. And my personal favourite mahrez stat he never missed a game through injury!

But of course pep asks his wingers not to shoot and instead keep the ball.

When you put it like that there really is no other way around it; that record is absolutely horrible.

And I've said before and will maintain that I have more of an issue with the way we treat Jack than I do with Jack himself. Why is he a golden boy when Sterling was given dogs' abuse? Why is he considered a great player when Jesus Navas (who got more goals and assists for us, by the way) is considered shit? There is something about Grealish's treatment among City fans that I just find so so unfair and uneasy.

Don't forget Mahrez who was called ffs, he's scored more goals in one season than Grealish has in his entire City career.
 
He would be the first to admit he hasn't delivered at City anywhere near what he should have.

I wouldn't lose much sleep if he left but we need much better output and impact on the scoresheet in goals and assists from his replacement to make it worthwhile ala Sterling and Mahrez..
 
I go once a week with the missus for the big supermarket shop.
Since Grealish last scored I have been to Aldi, Lidl and Tesco a total of 53 times.

he himself said even in the first season and the treble season he is working hard on the output, given the media had it on daily regarding his lower output at City compared to what we used to get from the wingers. he had a few interviews that he is practicing shooting, crossing to get his number higher up while acknowledging he has other skills too which were useful for us.
this was before he went a full year before scoring in PL.

I dont think Leicester, Soton, Wolves have a winger in their squad who can go a year without scoring. certainly not a 100m one.
